The latest on finger

Well I finished the 1 month and 10 day antibiotic treatment on Sunday and saw the doctor today.  She said it looks like it is healing, but is still infected since the finger was starting to hurt more and more since I finished the antibiotic. So she doubled the dosage of the antibiotic for another 3 weeks and I see her again in 4 weeks. So the saga continues.

IN other news while having my acupuncture treatment I got what may be some bad news. As the nurse was removing the needles she noticed that I have several small black spots on my ears. So I am to contact my PC to see about them being checked out as it might be skin cancer.

Hi there Dennis,

It's sounds like the infection is hanging of for dear life. I hope you have a strong stomach with taking double dose of the antibiotics. At least you didn't have to have it spliced open again. I am sure you are just so past this finger infection & will be relieved when this clears up.

I hope the black spots are nothing to worry about. My father had some cancerous growths on his ear & he was given a cream to apply which removed the cancer. He's fine now but he always puts sunscreen or zinc on his ears & then tucks them under a hat to be safe.

Take Care,

Karry.

It must be one humungous infection in that finger Dennis.  I'm so sorry to hear that it's still not sorted for you yet.

One of my kids' fingers was bitten by a pet calf once and became seriously infected so we soaked it in a Calendula potion.  It did an amazing job of clearing it up without antibiotics.  Maybe if you used something like this and antibiotics it might help??

Hopefully the black spots on your ears aren't anything to worry about.

Best wishes
