This could be a silly question

does anyone experience this:

About an hour before I have a bowel movement my whole body  starts to tingle it stops when the jobs done ( so to speak). I don't remember this happening before  I started to have all this rubbish symptoms, but i'm not sure. is it normal? I can't bring myself to meantion this to a Dr if it's normal, what an idiot I'd look but I simply can't remember this happening.

anyone wish to share?

I'm just now seeing this in 2011 after suffering for a year with this irritating (tingle) to say the least, that comes after I eat or after I drink things like coffee (acid). My only relief comes after a bowel movement and even then, it sends pretty good shock waves! Do you know how you let a doctor know, without sounding crazy, and what kind of doc handles this...nerologist, urologists, endocrinologist, or your regualr GP?  

It is good just to know someone is out there that has experienced this and I'm not alone.  Even my family is giving me the, "it's all in your head" looks.  Thanks for any help.

I second Jen's statement. I have had paraesthesia caused by a bowel movement and other triggers in the area. Mine are located at the site of the event and do not extend to my entire body.

I would mention it to your doc. My neuro has told me over and over again, "anything is possible with MS"

It sounds as if you're having a paresthesia, triggered by pressure in the bowel.  I've never had this particular symptom, but I have had paresthesias that were triggered by something happening somewhere else.

Have you had your spine looked at in terms of alignment?  Some people do have pain with bowel movements but I don't know why.  Try to look at this as a symptom.  A good doctor will not laugh at your symptoms
