Tired after evoked potentials testing

Tired after evoked potentials testing

I had 4 hours of evoked potentials testing this morning (after symptoms of double vision and dizziness plus an abnormal brain MRI). It wasn't exactly a load of fun, but it wasn't painful either.

But I feel SO TIRED tonight. Did this happen to anyone else who had the test? I could find SO LITTLE information about this test online, no "what to expect during the test" or "what to expect after the test", and it's a little isolating as a result. :-(

Thanks for any responses!

Hi Majic,

I had 3 evoked potnetials  on the same day, as well
eeg ver and bare , I do remember , the prep on these
was not to have caffiene, before hand and  to go to
bed late the night before and rise early , as they wanted
us to be sleepy for the test.
then I never got to eat till about 4pm that day, and
was extremly exusted, the rest of the evening.

Im not sure if the testing had anything to do with it at
least not in my case.
and for someone who is already not feeling well it might
be safe to say that four hours of testing in that chair,
would tend to make you very tired.

so rest up a couple of days. if the fatigue is still there
I would call the doc. and have it checked out

BTY nice to meet you                                             Gollie

Hi, haven't seen you on here lately. I have only had one test, the VEP. I don't know about any of the others. Could you tell me the other kinds of these test that they done are?

Hi santana:

The other three evoked potential test besides the VEP

1. EEG (Electroencephalogram)

2. BARE (Brain stem evoked response) hearing signals

3. Somatosensory Evoked Response (Ser) or ssep  for arms and legs.

All done with electrodes.          no needles, as with the nerve conduction studies.

                            Hope this helps                 Gollie
