Hey Everyone -
I saw this post earlier today but was unable to post from my Blackberry ... Thanks for the info. That article and what SunnyToday mentions above is exactly what that reaction does to me ... though the only place other than the shower I've had the reaction is recently I used my seat-warmer in my vehicle, it didn't even seem that warm, yet my back was fire red (kinda looking like a sunburn) for quite a while.
SunnyToday - I wonder if you also have a sensitivity on your skin (legs, arms, trunk, chest) which allows "writing" to show in red marks when you scratch lightly with a fingernail somewhere on your skin. I was once told that it is refered to as dermatigraphia. Anyway ... I've been able to do that for as long as I can remember ... recently my hemotologist had a "WOW" reaction when he noticed marks on my chest during an exam. I showed him how I can write the word "MOM" on my belly with my finger and within 30 seconds you can read it in bright red marks. I wonder if this has something also to do with the Erythromelagia?
I visited the TEA websight ealier on my phone, but now that I'm home I'll be able to print the info out for my "reference notebook".

I learn something new everyday!! I always wondered how to explain this... here's how I did it in one of my previous posts...
" A nurse once saw it when I was pulling on a paper gown after I had took off a sweater and freaked out and said that I was having an anaphylactic reaction, but when it disapeared she was like "oh, it's gone". So, that happens every time I take a warm (doesn't even have to be hot) shower or dress too warmly.... I have huge splotches of red about the size of my palms splotched on my face, my back, my chest and my legs and my feet turn brilliant bright red."
Once again, nice to know there is an explanation to this, and not simply "it's in my head". I've tried to explain this to a doctor, but they just say... "and it disapears?" and then they say "ok, that's good". I will need to take a picture when I am bright red, i think I can rival some of those pictures on that web site :)
Thanks Mrs. Aristotle and Quix!!
