Turned down for all Medical Insurance

by mercyone, Jun 30, 2008 01:11PM
I thought things were looking up - as I have no major dx that would prevent me from getting coverage - some depression and anxiety and pain meds - and I guess that was enough to put the medical industry on the red alert. But I'm not so scared now and the biking is helping keep my spirits up. California has a high risk insurance plan available - it is pricey but I can squeeze out the money.

I feel so positive about life now - and this forum has and is such a help. Especially since my symptoms seems to wax and wane and change so ofter - I never know what to expect next........I'm keeping the appointment with the specialist next month - that should give me some answers, or at least I hope so.

It is good to hear from someone with a positive outlook on things even in the face of the unknown!  I too hope that you get some answers next month and although the high risk insurance is pricey, it is insurance for the future just the same.  I wish you the best of luck mercy and I am anxious to hear what the specialist will have to say!

Lots of Hugs,

Rena

Yes, I agree with Rena... I love to hear anything positive! (although, getting turned down for insurance isn't great at all).

Do you bike inside or outdoors? I keep trying to convince myself to bike more often- it's a fun excercise! I so often look at my bike and then take the car. (Smile)

Oh I bike outside - because I live in the country and there's lots of nice roads and pretty stuff around. At first I was afraid - kind of wobbly - but it didn't take long to get my bike legs back and then my confidence grew. So I now carry a bike in my SUV so at lunch at work, I take it out and go on the bike path near the river - I used to sleep in the car at lunch but somehow the biking has added a great dimension to my small world. Then I take my Great Pyrenees with me on Sunday mornings very early for a ride - but we don't go fast or far as she is a gentle giant that is not used to it yet.

I am trying to get up the guts to bike to work - 10 miles but I am so busy in the morning with the animals that it is difficult to get out of the house that early to make it to my job on time - but I keep trying.

Don't worry if you are afraid at first or wobbly - it will come back - as I was a real basket case at first and afraid even to cross the road - now I zoom with ease.

Mercy.
