UPDATE FROM DOC APPT TODAY... SO SORRY TO MISS LEAD ANYONE
FIRST OF ALL LET ME SAY THANKS FOR THE INFO ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH THE PAIN... I DID SAY WHERE MY PAIN WAS JUST IN A DIFFERENT POST. I AM SORRY AGAIN TO MISLEAD ANYONE...
BUT ON THE LIGHTER SIDE OF THINGS MY PRIMARY DOCTOR LISTENED TO ME... I CRIED IN THE OFFICE AND TOLD HER THAT I WANTED ANSWERS. I WAS TIRED OF NOT GETTING ANSWERS AND THAT I WANTED TO BE REFERRED TO A NEUROLOGIST. SHE TOLD ME IT MIGHT TAKE 6 MONTHS AND I CRIED EVEN MORE.
THERE IS NO WAY I AM GOING TO LIVE IN PAIN FOR SIX MONTHS AND DEAL WITH THESE SYMPTOMS, THE TINGLING IN MY ARMS, THE WEAKNESS OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY ENTIRE BODY, THE BLACKING OUT AT TIMES, THE LEG AND HIP PAINS, UNABLE TO HOLD MY URINE AND EVEN THE BURNING IN MY FEET. THE LIST JUST GOES ON. I WENT FOR TWO WEEKS WITHOUT A SINGLE PAIN OR SYMPTOM AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY ARE BACK.
SHE ASKED ME WHAT I KNEW FROM THE NEURO-OPTOMOLOGIST AND I TOLD HER THAT MY OPTIC NERVES WERE SWOLLEN,,, LEFT SIDE WORSE THAN THE RIGHT AND THAT HE SAID THE MRI WAS NOT CLEAR ENOUGH TO SEE SO I WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE LP ON THE 29TH BUT I WASNT GOING TO CONTINUE ON LIKE THIS.
SO TO MAKE A LONG DOCTOR VISIT SHORT SHE ENDED PUTTING ME IN AN URGENT STATUS FOR THE NEURO AND GAVE ME TYLENOL 3 FOR THE PAIN AT NIGHT IN ADDITION TO FLEXERIL (MUSCLE RELAXER)!! I TOLD HER I WOULD TRY IT BUT IF IT DIDNT WORK I WOULD BE BACK.
SHE LAUGHED WITH HER HUMOR AND AND SAID OK.

You didn't mislead anyone. You are in a pain and getting no answers.
Thank God your doctor gave you some medication and muslce relaxants to help get you through until they can get your appointment set up. Maybe since she is putting a rush on it, it will happen very soon.
At least you went to someone that listened. I would hate to think that it took tears for her to listen to what you had to say. I think in this case, it was a good thing it was a woman. She seemed to be compassionate and took the time she needed with you.
Would you please keep us posted about your Neuro appointment? I am anxious to see how fast they can get that set up, now that they have put a rush on it.
