Undiagnosed.. and scared.. without insuance.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed a flash extending from my left eyes right side of vision to the left.  Along with an enlarged [very] right pupil which varied in size but almost ALWAYS was bigger than the left pupil.  Went to the eye doc and he looked in both eyes said absolutely nothing was wrong with my eyes itself & that my optic nerve looked fine.

I have been to the ER twice now for headaches [minor] along with a VERY enlarged right pupil.  It's like I can feel my pupil enlarging and while I was in the ER last night I started feeling very 'weird' almost like a very bad panic attack and started shaking.  The nurse came up to me and said my right eye was extremely dilated.. Then she started asking if I was on drugs or if someone might of put something in my drink ect...
Also.. at this point my left eye's flashing thingie is gone and now it's sparkles in my perifial vision along with what seems to be hundreds of black dots through out my vision. [I described it as a black veil before].

I was in the ER another time and they did a cat scan [without contrast] and said everything looked normal.

I have no insurance and I am pretty poor.  I have barely enough money saved up to go to a neurologist and I am lucky to even be going because the only reason I can be seen without a referral is because my friends mom works there.  She said on monday when I go in they are going to order a scat MRI which means I go from the doc to the hospital to get it done but they are taking me to another hospital then originally planned because I owe so much to the one hospital.  Lol I am going to run out of hospitals soon.. not really funny if it is something serious like ms or cancer.

It is just scaring me because I have no idea what can be making my right pupil blow up like that.  I do not do drugs and nothing has got into my eye.

My question is #1 if I had MS wouldn't lesions which are typical [correct me if im wrong] show up?  #2 has anyone with MS have/had symptoms like this before?   I also notice I am a worse speller than before if that means ne thing.. or once again it could be my anxiety kicking in... who knows.

"Some people with MS report having difficulty speaking, often due to slurring their speech. Others struggle with understanding language. Still others “lose words” mid-sentence, or switch words or syllables when speaking. These difficulties are probably related to the cognitive symptoms discussed below."

I just read this.. I have had these problems since I can remember... I thought attacks came and went.  ?  I am just new to all this and I have no doc to speak with so any information is so helpful.. thx *

An MRI would show lesion activity, but only if it's at a high enough resolution.  1.5T or better is preferred.  You can research this if you know the name of your hospital - check them out online and see what they say.

Make sure they administer gadolinium contrast to you, as it will find active new lesions.

I have never had that particular symptom, but I've heard of people with it, so it's not unheard of.

I have had several relapses since my diagnosis, and each one has left me with residual damage.  If you're having cognitive  problems now, it's possible that it's left over from neurological damage in the past.

yes, I have felt like that before, that is the so called Dx of the day, "panic attacks".

the speech issue of slightly slurred speech and losing words in mid sentence, yes to that also. for me, the slurred speech thing always comes along when i'm having issues with my tongue - the sensation thtat i am swallowing it or that it is stuck to the roof of my mouth. and my whole nervous system seems a little more edgy then.

quite regular these days, my thoughts seem ok, yet at times i cannot get them out my mouth. it is like part of the sentence gets lost on the way out or stuck. i stutter too for no apparent reason.

but the Dx of the day, "panic attacks" for some doctors explains away all your symptoms. LOL

Today I am having headaches.  Mainly behind my dilated [right] eye.  My right eye's dilation is not that noticeable today.  I can tell it is slightly bigger than the left but it is not huge like before.  At points during the day it seemed the same size but I don't know it could of just been light conditions.  I went to an eye doc 2 wks ago and he said my optic nerve looked completely normal.. he is supposed to be one of the best eye docs in the area so does that rule out Optic neuritis ?
