Uneqal pupils

Over the last year I have suffered with severe headaches off and on, sinus issues, instances of seeing flashes of light, lots of small dots that move, partial loss of vision in one eye, muscle weakness, and pain, pickiness in hands, feet, and legs, mild shaking in hands and legs sometimes, overactive bladder, eye twitching, and most recently one large pupil and one normal size pupil. I was checked months ago by my eye doctor when seeing the flashes of light and dots, and everything was normal. With all the symptoms on top of the unequal pupils, what could this be?

I can say that I have similar problems too yours, with the same kind of eye troubles. When I ask questions, I never get answers. Perhaps maybe seeing our regular doctors might do the trick?

Hi there,

I too think it's time to see the regular Dr. and get a good once over. And, perhaps a 2nd look from another optha. Thanks for joining us. How long has this been going on with you?

Hope you feel better soon,

Well some of this started years ago, but the eye issues just in the last year. I went to my regular dr yesterday. She said that my headaches are probably migranes (migraines) which are neurological. The pupils she said are not neurological because it happened in my right eye and then my left. Therefore, she doesn't think the two are related.  She said it could just be that the muscles that control your pupils are not working as much in one eye as the other at different times. I was referred to a neurologist for a combination of all the symptoms I mentioned above and she said maybe that visit would provide an answer to the pupil issue.

So, until then I have to walk around looking in the mirror every five minutes to see if I look like a freak with one huge pupil and one normal. It's depressing me.

Thanks for asking!

It's very frustrating isn't it? It seems like they never figure out what one symptom is caused by and before you know it there's another to add to the list, and nothing ever gets resolved. They just say everyhing is normal, and send you on your way. I think patients know their bodies better than anyone else, and when something is wrong they don't need a dr to tell them IF there is something wrong, just WHAT is wrong. It seems in my case and sounds like yours, that never happens. Ugh.

Good luck to you.
