Upper Back/Shoulder Spasms

This past Wednesday I finished my exercise, then showered...in the shower, which was not too hot, but warm, my upper back started to pull and pinch. I tried to stretch it, but that only made it worse. I then turned the water to cool.
The rest of the day it still was spasm'ing off and on throughout the day. When I got home from work, hoping to relax, it went into somesort of weird whole body stiff spasm.

I could not move a muscle. I could not breath or it would hurt terribly!  I had my fiancé help me to the floor so I could lie down flat. It lessened enough to where I could get up. The rest of the night I had to move slowely or it would "catch" again.

The week before I had side spasms in my rig cage for several days. That had subsided.
Today it is almost gone. But my back/shoulder  was very sore for awhile.

I suppose I am just wondering if this happens to anyone here?
Could the hot/warm shower cause it?  I felt fine during exercise.
Or am I pulling muscles all the time.
BTW I have never pulled a muscle that bad EVER!!!  It hurt like $(&@"$)!!!!! I couldn't even move my finger!!!

Cyndi

Hi Cyndi!

I'm so sorry that you're having these problems....That sounds really painful and scary!!

How are you doing now?  Has this ever happened before?

I can't really give you answers to what is happening, but I am hoping that someone else can add their expertise on the subject.....

I hope you feel better soon!
BIG HUGS!
Tammy :)

I am un dx, I have had spasms like that for the last two years, but i also have scoliosis, I really do know how painfull it can be to breathe when your ribs are hurting the longest it ever lasted was 7 days , the only advice i can give you is to go to the doc and ask for an mri of thora and cerv spine that way you will know what you are dealing with. do you ever have lumber pain? or problems walking?, I hope Quix will be able to help you out with this one as well. I find that rest is the only way it will ease off, and tepid bath, NOT HOT, or COLD. hope you feel better soon :o) CJ

Thank you for your responses. :)  I am just fine now. I have been through all MRI's (Brain, cervical, thorasic, lumbar) only the brain has shown any abnormalities. Thus my probable Dx of Ms.
I do have some gait problems every now and then. My hips hurt when that happens, or my lower back. The upper has had fits but never a whole body fit!!!  I admit I don't want to go back to my Doc yet as I just don't have the energy to face that yet. (lots going on in life. Some good some bad)  But I didn't know if that could have been something MS related.
Thank you again for your responses. I think later today I will put my whole story on my journal. I use my iPhone to post and it is hard to type very fast!! So I will do that from a real computer! :)
Hugs!!!  And I hope you are all doing ok youtselves!
