Urgent need re: bladder incontinence protection recommendations

MOTHER OF THE GROOM NEEDS WEDDING DAY HELP
----- Looking for product that is effective, absorbent and invisible.  No time for trials.-----

I need your suggestions to help me get dressed and stay dry - or at least maintain the APPEARANCE OF DRYNESS - for this long, busy and important-to-look-my-best occasion.

I had been doing much better over the last couple of months with urinary bladder control.  Had even been able to increase my water intake to the minimum 8 glasses a day that always seems to be the suggested minimum.  I was so proud of myself and actually thought too few fluids must have been part of my problem.

Now I have had several accidents and near accidents in the last couple of weeks and I'm getting nervous about having enough control to last through the wedding day when bathroom access may not be tip-top (i.e. picture taking in a public park).

There are added wardrobe considerations.  I've lost a few pounds in preparation for fuller figure exposure in a floor length dress.  Not enough though, so I'll be wearing a modified super-duper body fat cheating, slightly slimming and bulge reducing undergarment.  (((Of course it's not one with a full crotch!  My brain doesn't have so many black holes in it that I've lost all common sense.)))  The point is, the dress is very light chiffon type weight and hugs my body a bit.

I know I need protection on this day but don't want to advertise the fact through bulky bulges or by walking like I lost my horse at the other end of the aisle when they escort me in.  Since I'm not confident the panty liners I've used in the past will be sufficient to contain my potential embarrassment I am looking for your suggestions for the very best bladder protection product you know of for dual purposes of effectiveness and invisibility.

I'm counting on you girls!
Message me if you prefer but I think few are so modest or secretive here among friends.

I know Jemm.  The hardest part for me is still that I gave and gave to others for so long.  I thought this time in my life would be reserved for me and all the things I'd left undone.  The grandkids are in school and my parents have passed.  It's my time alright.  I'm just not able to do the things I dreamed of.  Seems I got old too quick and smart too late.

I'll be using every bit of information you have all shared to help me through.  I'm sure it will be fine once I have my plan and determination in place.  I was panicked for a moment there but I'm focused again now on how to take good care of me.  There are plenty of people catering to the wedding couple.  There is only me to decide what's best for me.  If anyone thinks that selfish they will have to deal with that however they can.

Thanks all,
Mary

My current favs are the ultimate long Poise and Walgreens generic Comfort Safe Ultimate.

I actually don't think they show.  And they don't make me waddle.  I lose upwards of a cup each time, so they do work well.  With a heavy form fitter on you would be fine.

Those Tena products are a good idea too! I have heard a good number of good things about them!

I was looking around the other day and I think these TENA products may be a good start.  The have panty liners and actual underwear.  Here is the link:

btw- also with poise pull ups they are pretty compact so you can hide a couple in your purse without taking up too much room.

i hope you find something that works great!

ok so i think poise pull ups might be your best bet. They have a light flimsy material that stretches around your hips (they are like boy shorts at the top without the leg part) If you buy your size or a size smaller they may just work. They are disposable and from my experience dont russle or make any noise when you walk. I say a size smaller because that will guarntee that the built in pad part wont be noticable at all and they stretch so a size smaller shouldnt be uncomfortable. The good news about these kinds are that they resemble regular underwear and may even add extra tummy tuckage if you need or want it. You can find them at pretty much any store.

There are actual cloth underwear that have built in pads that im sure you can find at a med supply store and would just look like underwear but its going to be hard to change out them and find a place to put them until the wedding is over with.

Congrats and good luck!!!

inassessable?

Seems to me any person with a handicapped placard really ought to be able to spell inaccessible.

Sorry, and thanks for your help so far.

I do remember Quix mentioning a product she really liked.  I had asked her to pm me the name of it but when this problem improved I didn't worry about getting a response.  I regret that now and may have to message her.

The fluid restriction might happen naturally as liquids may be as inassessable as bath room facilities at times.  It's expected to be mid eighty temps and normal August humidity here so I hate to get too hot or dry.

I'll take a look at these suggestions and any others as they come.  It's been a while since I had a full out let loose but I can't get it shut off once it startes so if I'm not in sprint range, I'm in dodoland.  Anyone know if those waterproof underwear hold in heat?  I wonder if I could find something at the local medical supply store.  I'd probably have to cash out an investment account to purchase something there.

Whoo. This is a tall order. How much time do you have to experiment before the big event?

Quix at one point posted about 'incontinence aids' that she orders on-line. That was before Niagara Falls happened to her, so I don't know if she still recommends them. Then there are the standard pads in maxi versions meant for periods, or even the hospital OB kind.

I know you don't want to be walking with your feet spread apart, so the object is to find the slimmest that is also the strongest. Perhaps you'll just have to experiment, but I hope lots of gals here can give you some good pointers.

As a last resort, you could restrict your fluid intake to the mimimum for that day only. Not a good idea in general, but your child is getting married!

I look forward to reading lots of good suggestions for you.

I was just reading something from the NMSS about plasic lined underwear - have no clue where you would find such thing and if memory serves me correct you are needing this quite soon - might be something to look into though?

I myself usually just use regular pads but for an all day occasion I am not sure that would do especially with a fancy chiffon dress, let me think on this a little more. My brain is a little foggy as of late but I so want to help you out I can hear the desperation in your post!

I hope someone else will chime in soon that has more expertise in this also as I am still new to this problem and have not even made my appointment with the urologist yet or I would ask him for ideas!
