Vagus nerve

Does anyone know how to calm a hyper vagus nerve?  Mine has been fluttering in my upper abdomin for weeks now and the last day or two it has gotten almost unbearable.  No pain, just the flippy-floppy fluttering that makes it hard to talk and breathe.  Not worried about croaking.  Just need some relief/rest.

Sounds like you're having a spasm in your diaphragm area.  You know, I get baclofen through my Walmart pharmacy, with no insurance.  I have insurance, but I have to have all my scrips mail-ordered, and I'm not happy when I'm out of baclofen.  It costs me $20.53 for 180 pills.

Hot pad will help too - it'll make the muscle looser, which should help.

Try a heating pad to see if this works. I have had this and it kinda feels like a baby moving around then harding up.  It's a weird senation.  I don't have no baby inside.... Lol my tubes r tied.  I know this is spasms in my stomach area. And, sometimes they can be controlled by a heating pad and pain pills. Because, of the tightness it kinda is sore.

Just a suggestion maybe this will help.

Take care..... Get better soon.

It just feels like a little thing flipping over in my diaphragm/chest area.  My neuro wouldn't care if I were flapping around on the floor like a fish... may not be totally fair, but that's how I feel since I don't have insurance anymore.  Ugh... hate the pity party.  Must be hormonal.

I've had it before and had fainting episodes and that doc thought vagus likely with my spasm issues.

I'll call neuro... soon.

I can understand why you want to call it the vagus nerve, but it runs from the head down to the stomach - I think you're experiencing some problem with the stomach muscles.

I've had my stomach muscles involuntarily clench rhythmically.  It's quite odd, especially if I wake up and it's happening.  Perhaps you're having some involuntary movement, or maybe it's spasticity of your stomach muscles.  What do you feel if you put your hand on the area?

I would call your neurologist about it - don't postpone this sort of thing!
