Vision getting worse, can it wait until tomorrow?

I'm guessing yes, but wanted the input of more experienced people here. This is something that started back up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It started with floating spots then progressed to blurring periodically. After that I started the prednisone trials and it clears up on the higher doses but comes back on the lower doses.

I noticed last week I was having a day when my vision was blurred most of the day along with some other symptoms and contacted my GP who wasn't in. They referred me to the neuro who insisted I was improving because of steroid euphoria without asking me any questions about what exactly was feeling better. After about 15 minutes of his dangers of steroids lecture I informed him of the physical things that were going away on the prednisone. His advice was to continue the taper as prescribed and get a spinal tap this week.

Now that I'm down to 20mg, my vision has been blurring almost all day today and is now the worst it's ever been. I can still see to post, obviously, but if this keeps up I won't be able to drive tomorrow to get a blood draw. Now my eyes are hurting even when I don't move them and I'm starting to get a headache.

I called the neuro to report this and the other symptoms I had over the weekend (seizure like episode) and as expected, he never even returned my call. The spinal tap isn't until Thursday.

I'm just wondering if this can wait until I can contact my GP tomorrow, or is it more dangerous than that? My GP tells me this visual loss is sort of a big deal, but my neuro acts like it's petty complaints. So I'm confused about what to do.

Thanks for the help, guys. I can't do more than what they suggest. I hate feeling helpless like this.

I've had all that checked. This is definitely neuro related. Saw an optho a while back who didn't see anything. Visual field test was normal. I had an appointment with a neuro-optho, but it cleared up so they said not to come in. Now it's back.

Anyway, GP wants me to stay on the current pred dose, have the spinal tap Thurs and come in to see him next week.

This blurry thing is driving me crazy. And now my hands are shaking again. It's all so annoying.

Yup, I would.  The problem with a chronic condition is it can mask other problems.  It might be something else entirely, like blood pressure or diabetes.

Hi Shell. No, I haven't seen anyone yet. It's a little better today. I need to give my GP a call. He's back in today.

Hey you,

You go to the GP? I suure hope so.
Never can be too sure when it comes to your vision just what all the danger can be.
Please tell us what you ended up doing...
