Vitamin D deficiency

This is a new thing; I had this checked about a year after the onset of my problems, and it was normal. Now, it is low at 12 ng/l. I'm going to start on 5000 IU/d, per neuro. Anyone had experience with vit D deficiency and supplementation? Will I feel more energetic? I'm glad my neuro sent me for this; I've been having severe hip pain for some months and wondering why--now wondering if it's not because of this.

No idea, but mine is being rechecked now, too.  It's been a few years.  I think we're screening for mimics now; D & B12 were both on the lab orders, as were several other things.
