Walmart looking better tonight!

I hadn't been to the store in about two weeks because both my dad and step dad have been sick , so my husband had been going for me. Tonight I went shopping with him and Walmart looked a lot more closer to normal. What I mean is if it has been a while since I have been in the store, then I really notice how improved my vision is becoming. It is not all the way normal yet and I don't know if it will ever be completely normal again, but improvement is still happening. It seems that the visual field defect is still shrinking or something. I didn't get any steriods two  years after the onset of Retoubular Neuritis or for the vision dysfunction caused by the brain lesions in the visual pathways, which ever one it is that caused this, So all of the healing has occured naturally from time alone.I noticed from the new visual field test I had from the low vision specialist, that the field defect looked smaller and less black in the blind area and more gray. Do you think it is possible that this field defect could heal completely or close to it? Just wondering if any of you have any personal knowledge about this?

I have no advice or knowledge about the visual field, but just wanted to say that I'm glad that your vision is getting better!!  That's good news!!

I hope it continues to improve for you!

Take care, Pat :-)

Thank you for the good wishes, they mean a lot. It has been two years since my vision went haywire in that store that day. It has improved over the whole two years, but  it is so slow. I try not to think about wheather or not it will ever be normal again to much anymore. I know that thier is a good possibility that I will be left with some of this permanately, but compared to the sevierness of my vision distortions from the onset, it has improved about 75%. I want that other 25% back too, but have tried to accept the possibility that it may never be back to complete normal.
