Week of December 6.....time to report in!

We started this over a year ago- a weekly roundup of all the news from our community that people want to share.  It can involve your doctor appointments but isn't limited to that.  We like to hear about birthdays and other celebrations, travel plans or whatever else it is you do to fill your days.

This is your chance to share what's happening in your life.

be well,Lulu

and that dear friend would depend on how many brothers were still at home doing stupid things and how many more were in college....Upon the dear son's arrival home, he was told the following.  "You are not alone in having done stupid things.  In fact, some of your brothers may have topped this antic.  Just let it be known, on this date, you are done doing "stupid" and will be left to figure "stupid" out alone the next time."

If he has done "stupid", he hasn't called here...lol

actually, I would not mind if they took off with little cash on an adventure.  What memories they would have.

I am sure scholar has interesting memories.

Maybe I should start an OT thread to continue this discussion, but I just want to note that my daughter was HS class valedictorian, sailed through expensive private college on scholarships, and earned her Master's soon afterward, in 19th Century British Gothic Literature (you want fries with that?).  I understand that she is a college professor nowadays.

She is a brilliant young (33 next month) lady, but deeply troubled, from my perspective.  She has hard lessons yet to learn.

Monday - made cheese dip and various crudites to accompany it for an all women's group get together. Had a blast. Just what the doc ordered.

Tuesday - help DD with PCAT studying and perhaps get some baking in. May be taking DS to check and see if his stomach complaints are from eating at a local  fast food joint. He and his girlfriend both fell ill at the same time after eating there.

Wednesday    - ketamine infusion, finally! It's been a long 3 weeks and I miss being pain -free

Thursday - Probably sleep most of the day but hope to get some Christmas cards out.
Friday - Clean house

Have a good week guys and try to stay warm.

Thursday I've got the second round of dopla ultra sound tests, need to fast for that one.

Also need to find a way to get to the optomitrist to pick up my new glasses, hope I can see better with them for what they are costing. lol

See opthomologist tomorrow. Am anxious as appointment is at 8:30 AM and brain doesn't start working decently until about 10, so actually took notes to remember what to say.
Am supposed to fly with husband and daughters(ages 4 and 1) to NY on Thursday(we live in California) for a wedding, and from there will take the girls to Michigan for Christmas. Since i haven't really gotten dressed in 5 days this is seeming like more than a bit of a stretch.... good times!

Mcbcon, I had one that was a National Merit Scholar and received full scholarship to one of the best college's in the country,.  He worked too.  He also did stupid things.  One of the worse was taking off for a trip to Europe for two weeks with $240.00's in his pocket...errr...to pay for the train, food, lodging.....How long before parents were called in to help this crew?  Day five.  Smart, bright and no common sense.  Not just him but the entire group were geniuses and not one thought it through!!  My opinion has always been.....I wish we could just shake them up and get average.

And I don't think you were bragging but proud.  You should be!  But I thought having been in those shoes years ago to prepare you for what might be....lol

And to all of you in UK I'm hoping that snow and cold leaves your land soon.  Our gas prices here went up today and they are blaming Europe's need for extra heating oil.

Wow! what a week - happy birthday monkeymom4.  Doug and Mike - thanks for the laughs.

PD - the wife and a snowblower?  That is some dowery you got.  Don't tell my DH or he'll want one too. Oh wait, he already has that - his wife (me) does the shoveling since his bypass surgery!

Moki - keep your snow up north, would you please?

All the baking that's going on here - we should start our own cookie exchange.  I love to bake but seem to have lost the touch right now but could volunteer to be the official taster.

johnnybear- can this season be over soon, please?

It's great to read all these updates - thanks for sharing.

Long week of job hunting, rewiring house, fielding calls from assorted females all angry at the same scum-bucket whose first wife is a member of our church, more job hunting, and probably BLOWING some snow since my wife doesn't want me shoveling anymore.  I got a really nice snowblower along with this marriage deal, though, so I'm prepared!

MCBCON and Doug, thanks for the chuckles, you have no idea how much I needed that.

So today- shoveling snow
Tomorrow- shoveling snow
Wednesday- apparently still shoveling snow
Thursday- praying the snow has stopped or I'm shoveling snow
Friday-thinking of moving somewhere where there is no snow

Yesterday I was at the local Wal-Mart. After gimping around in there for about twenty minutes I decided I had enough so I walk out of the store into the parking lot, and there he was - a damn motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket ...

So, I went to him and said: "Come on man, how about giving a guy a break?"

He simply ignored me and continued writing the ticket.

So, I called him a pencil necked Nazi. He then glared at me and started writing another ticket for having bald tires!  Well.... game on!

So, I called him a sorry excuse for a human being. He then finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first. Then he started to write a third ticket!

This went on for about another 15 minutes ... the more I abused and hurled insults at him, the more tickets he wrote ...

After having my fill of this guy, I gimped away since my car was parked around the corner...

;-)    I hope you all have a good evening.

I'm working all week, except for Friday.

Tomorrow (Tues) I'm going to see my primary care doctor about a slowly growing groin lymph node that's over an inch in diameter and feels kind of hard and rubbery - wish me luck :-(

Friday I'm staying home and waiting for FedEx to deliver my $10,000, oops, I mean Copaxone.   :-)

Sat I should get a haircut since my hair grows like a weed, but no appt so have to wait until the following Sat.

The best thing about getting a brain MRI is that one then has graphic proof one has a brain.  Others who have not had an MRI can only speculate.

Getting an MRI of the brain tonight instead of Wednesday that will hopefully shed some light on what's happening in there :)  Then VEP and EEG tomorrow at neuro's office.  Praying that answers come soon!  Love and prayers to all!

Yeah, I know that I am sorta bragging.  But, except how much I love my wife, it is all I have to feel really good about.  Sorry, if I sounded like a jack A.S.S
