Ren, I was taking Cymbalta before but had to stop due to getting serious headaches from it. I will be sure to let you know how everything turns out.
Deb, Yeah I remember you :) Thank you for your advice. I am going to take it one day at a time. I just sometimes think..."what have I done to deserve this" but then I pop back to reality and realize that it is what it is. I will be sure to ask if I have any questions but first thing first is to see what doctor has to say.
Thank you all,
Paula
Hi Paula... You prob don't reconize me but, I've been here for quite sometime but rarely post. Let me introduce myself... I am Debbie I was diagnosed with PPMS (primary progressive) in 2009. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia many years prior. I currently take Lyrica for the fibro... I am also on Celebrex because of osteoarthritis. The combination works well for me. Being diagnosed with Fibro may be a good thing because they they will give you the "proper" med for it and you'll find some relief. I don't take any meds for MS because there are none for PPMS, I'm sure the meds I'm on crossover and offer relief. There are a few meds out there for fibro, once they find the one for you I'm sure you'll be happy with how you feel. Good Luck! I bounce in and out so if I can answer any questions for you just ask!
Debbie

Dear Paula,
sorry to hear of your new symptoms! You have had enough on your plate for quite a while.
We are here for all the venting you give out and will help in any way we can even if it's only to listen.
BTW, cymbalta for pain is wonderful!! Had to stop it due to drug interactions but did wonders for the extra pains here and there.
Let us know how things evolve. We are here for you!!
hugs,
Ren
Thank you, I have had tender spots for a while now...never mentioning them because I figured it was MS related. When doc told me the tender spots are in spots similar to fibro it scared mee
I guess I shall find out soon enough what is going on.
Paula
Hey unhappy Paula, (lol that was funny),
Surely you need nothing else. I did read something about brain changes and fibro, but will need to search my research to find it. That I'll get back to you on. But, the LP is a biggie. Positive+ the rest says alot.
I don't have to tell you that it's going to be important to discuss this with your neuro - you already know that. But, the reason I'm repeating it is because from what I've studied, the nerve pain in MS can be different than that of nerve pain in fibro, it will take a skilled neuro to distinguish between the two.
Your pain can be from the MS too :( but, doc may prescribe lyrica that fibro dxers use too. I'm bettin on it's your MS.
Sending you a pass to vent ALL you want!!!!!!!
Sorry for being a big mother hen :( just don't want you getting down thinking of two probs
That's one of the things we are here for, Paula, as big shoulders and great listening ears for those of us who feel the need to vent.
Vent away!
Wish we could wave a magic wand and make your problems go away but hopefully being able to share them by venting will help you cope.
