Hi! Sorry you are feeling blue. Solumedrol can be brutal so just knowing that you just finished a round of it makes me feel for you.

I had 2 rounds of it this winter and didn't suffer depression but was very wound up. I couldn't sleep and got very cranky. I even got angry with the people in the house that were sleeping like it was their fault, ha ha.

If you are seriously depressed or having bad thoughts please call the doctor and insist on talking to someone. Even though it is the weekend they will get someone for you.

If you are just blah and a little scared because you have never felt this way then maybe it is enough to know that lots of us suffer yucky side effects from the Solumedrol and they do pass. Drink tons of water to help it get through your system faster.

Spoil yourself with a soak in the tub or something you like but don't do often because you deserve it!

Take care
Erin :)

Hi.  If your depression is severe, you should call the neuro that ordered the SoluMedrol.  I did not suffer depression while on it, but I did have disassociation and knew my thinking process was out of whack.  I didn't like the feeling and did not trust myself to be alone.

Everything went well, but it was scary for a while.  I believe there should be better warning about the side effects and what to do about them............like call the doctor.  Sorry I can't offer more info.

Let someone around you know how you are feeling.  Be well.

we must have been doing our treatment at the same time. I finish my 5th day today.  I feel horrible.  The treatment didn't seem to help and it aggrivated an old shoulder injury.  I have been up and down all week with extreme fatigue and also periods of being wide awake.
I am sure I have been horribly moody and I know I have run out of patience with my 4 year old.
Apparently all of this is normal and will pass.

I know with some people they gradually reduce the dose to lessen this effect.  If you ever have to do the treatment again I would recommend asking about this.

I do hope you feel better soon.

Hi,

After my 5 day treatment in February, I was quite moody.  My husband said it was like pms that would not go away. LOL  Anyway, it takes a few days to get out ofyour system, andyou should be back to normal.  My dr. said that whatever emotions were lying under the surface would come up.  It can be overwhelming, but know that it is only temporory!
