I just read a good joke.  :)

A man gets hit by a car, dies, and goes to heaven.  In heaven, he finds himself in a long, long line of people waiting to get in.  Everybody is patiently waiting, waiting, and waiting.

All of a sudden, this guy comes running in from the back.  He's got a white coat, a medical bag, and a stethoscope, and he's running along, pushing to the front of the line, yelling "Out of my way!  Out of my way!"

One man says to the person next to him, "Who does that guy think he is -- God or something?!"

The other person answers, "That is God.  He just thinks He is a doctor."

Update.

Went to the ER on Tuesday for sudden gush of uterine bleeding.  I was scared out of my mind.  Transvaginal ultrasound showed fibroids and cyst.  Was prescribed Provera and rest.  Sent home.

Went to follow-up gyn on Wednesday.  She would not have prescribed the Provera before knowing the cause of bleed with more certainty.  She wants to do additional testing (including hysteroscopy).  I would rather not do any more tests (except non-invasive tests) until I have ruled out vascular EDS.

Today is Thursday.  Still bleeding.  Now also cramping.  Called a Geneticist to make an appointment for vascular EDS.  Waiting to hear back.

Meeting with Social Worker this afternoon, Wed, at 1:30.  PT at 3:30.

The heat is so stifling that I have no plans other than that.  It's A/C for me the rest of the day.

Hmm, haven't done this in a while...

Daily recording of pain scores in electronic diary for research study; started either duloxetine or placebo on Saturday.

Yesterday, I picked up Fluffy's ashes.

Today I got my car through DEQ, have new tags to put on.  Saw deer on way there; been watching red-tailed hawk soaring over wetlands outside my friends living room window.  Distracted self from feeling rotten.

Saturday, I go to a potluck with a great group of people.  The weather's supposed to be perfect, too!

I'm thankful for all the wonderfully supportive people on this forum.

Busy week :

Sunday and Monday were spent in the heat moving my college graduate out of her college apt back to home...what a mess in 100 degree weather. Next was helping her pack for a trip to Turkey with a college friend and her mom.

Today: Took my "baby girl" to the airport and handed her over to almost strangers to go abroad with people We hardly knew ...can we say nervous aka stressed?

Wednesday  - PT

Thursday  - son's MRI

Friday- try to recover from all of the above.

Would welcome thoughts and prayers for daughter in Turkey.

I'm thinking of getting in the habit of replying to this thread later in the week, so I can just try to remember what happened, rather than try to remember what's supposed to happen.  Think it'll help?

Recouping yet from Friday's blowout (see thread elsewhere), but yesterday Nancy (who is on vacation this week) got up and painted the garage while I painted the gables.  Thank God I was actually able to climb a ladder in the sun without a speck of dizziness.  Even more than that, we plopped into the pool when we were done, and I came out the color of salmon.  Heat really never bothered me, though, but I do know better than to let myself get that toasted.  Still, with a still-new bride on her first vacation in a while, and a fresh bottle of aloe gel....

Today Tim had an intramural basketball game.  Afterward Nancy took her daughter & youngest grandchild (youngest until next month, at least) to doctor appointments while Tim & I went to his favorite barber shop, then he took me to every athletic footwear outlet in the free world.  I bought some flip-flops, something I've not worn since...  Really, I'm not sure I've ever worn them.  I suppose I'll get used to them.

Church stuff tomorrow, part of Thursday, & Friday at least.  Thursday night we're going to see "Tecumseh!", one of Ohio's oldest and most elaborate outdoor dramas.  Probably spend Saturday getting ready for next week, too.  Vacation Bible School starts Sunday evening & runs through Thursday.  Nancy volunteered to lead it; she's fabulous with it, and I can't wait to see how it goes.

We pray y'all have a blessed week.

I finally read this thread and realize what it's for

Yesterday was a bit of a pain.  I found out that my new neurologist office made an error---they were supposed to schedule me for last week but  "somhow we didn't get that done".  So I have to wait for the 6th becuase my doc is on vacation.

Picked records from the first neuro----it consisted of 1 1/2 pages and is a good read if you like jokes

The rest of my week should be fairly quiet.  I don't have any appointments this week and was able to run errands yesterday.

Hopefully no more need to drive

Not a good week for me.... Monday started with:
Difficulty sleeping
RLS
dizzy and vertigo
Right heel buzzing
Rash on extremities from (sun)...
Itching
Goosebump sensation
Stomach pain
Nausea

Tuesday morning:
Headache base of skull
Neck pain and stiffness
Vertigo
Dizzy
Eye pressure
Anxiety (husband out of town, so kind of afraid if something would happen, I am here alone).

I go to the ophthalmologist on Thursday.  I saw her 3 years ago.  All I had then was floaters in my left eye.

More and more eye problems.  I am hoping to get some answers from her to give to my neurologist.....

Hello all!

My week is pretty low-key. Today is my 5 year olds last day of pre-K and my 3 year olds last day of speech therapy (he has it twice a week for 30 minutes each). It is the last full day of school for my older 3, then half days tomorrow & thursday and they are home for the summer.

I'm going to tackle the online courses today, and try to figure out how I will study everyday with all 6 kids home!

I have a few orders for the candies I make, so I need to get that done by Thursday night. And my hubby's cousin will be coming for dinner Thursday. she has been kind of lonely since her mom was put into a nursing home.

We might go to the amusement park on Sunday, going to the waterpark part for the first time. I *hate* waterparks...but the kids and hubby love them, and so I go and pretend I'm having fun. Right now the weather is saying thunderstorms though.

And that is my low-key week LOL

Johniebear- wow, those worries are sure monstrous at times.  Your young men are tough and they will be saddened by your news, but they will also man-up and be ready to do whatever you need and want them to do.

As for seeing your grandchildren - you don't have leprosy or the bubonic plague- this MiSerable disease is not contagious.  And despite what you are feeling right now, it really doesn't change who we are.  You grandchildren will be lucky and have their grandpa around for years to come.  Besides, who better than you to instill the passion for the Bears than you?

It is tough news to share, but it could always be worse.

My week is hectic and I'll be scarce again in a few days.  I'm in Cleveland until Wednesday - I came along with DH for a business trip. I have my laptop and Tuesday to catch up herre.

I then have Thursday to finish packing for my vacation which starts Friday.  We're heading west and taking an Alaskan cruise.  I'm looking forward to the cool weather and the scenery.

be well, Lulu

Had PT today...
Was suppose to have PT on Tuesday as well but rescheduled it for Wed as my friend Dave may  get out of the hospital Tuesday. Also have PT on Thursday.

Was kind of surprised today at PT by the fact my right leg was a lot stronger. On Saturday and Sunday I could barely move it at all after the 7 hours at the VA. Of course I had slept 14 and 16 hours the previous nights.

Ony three medical appointments this week.

New Viet. recepie to try - Grilled eggplant w/ fish sauce and fresh herbs; Tofu w/ tomato sauce and herbs.

I will probably spend the rest of the time playing in the garden.

I've been thinking of mowing the lawn this week, but I think my wife would only smack me around if she found out it was me.  LOL

I call my Uro-G and tell her the fifth med for the incontinence has failed.  Now what?

Scratch off Enablex, Sanctura, Detral LA (plus double dose) and Oxybutinin ER (and double dose), with a possible slight effect of Vesicare and wanting to higher to see if anything more dramatic happens.

I think we will be talking Botox, and I will have to carry the cost of the med at $525.  Not too bad, but if it works it is every 6 months or so.

MS should be reserved for the wealthy and the patient person.

A friend died on Friday morning.  Wend to his funeral, yesterday.  Had many nightmares, last night.

Now looking forward to a better week, and trying to find a doctor to test me for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

(John, please thank your children for protecting my family.  Also, I am sure ALL your children will understand your diagnosis, and they will look forward to placing your new grandchild right in your arms.)

I have an office visit to have a PRP injection in my right achilles,  it's worked before in my left achilles.

Our house guess leaves Tuesday and my oldest son & his wife will be here on Wednesday for a week.

I will finally feel like atleast one monkey will be off my back,  we will tell him about the DX,
he has no ideal that I've been sick and I don't  show any sx, and hide a few others.

Then in mid July my youngest will be here.  And we will tell him also.

I gone over this a 1,000 times in my mind, and gone over it again,  because only one person knows about my DX ,  besides my wife.

I have a few print outs to give them.

Will  I be treated like I have  the plague or will they keep a open mind?  There first child is due in Oct,  will they want me around to see my new grandchild  .. This will be my second grandchild..   I haven't traveled down this road & I don't have a map..

I know if you looked at my pic,  you'll said to yourself,
" Darn he looks so young to be a grandparent & handsome to"

I have  had every emotion about telling him,  and even thought of not letting family  know.

My adult children are fine men serving our nation,  I don't want to add any stress to them and their familes.
