Woke up really scared

Last night I woke up about an hour after I went to sleep. I am in the middle of a flare of symptoms (possible MS).

I thought that I was getting better after 5 weeks, as usually happens but then I realise it is just the quiet before the storm so to speak.

Anyway when I woke up I had a warm feeling from the top of my spine to the bottom, both arms and hands, both legs and feet. I felt tingling burning numb sensation and it felt like I was fighting an inflammation throughout my body. I took my temperature.....normal no infection.

Then I remembered this has happened once before during a flare when I also had just started menstruation. Could this be just a reaction of a flare combined with menstruation as I have read that symptoms can be worse when menstruating??

It was very scary and as MS doesn't usaully occur systemically I am confused as to what is happening.  It was obviously neurological in nature but is it possible with MS for this to happen??

Once I got up and started moving around the sensations did receed back to the normal areas that have these feelings but I did notice an ache in the cervical spine area.

It honestly feels like the inside of my body is under an attack of inflammation. It feels warm, tingly and slight numbness all over from the neck down.  It actually woke me up.   This morning everything is back to normal.

Any ideas??

I definitely have more symptoms when I'm PMS-ing.  I have spinal issues, so they come up more often during that time - but mine are very specific.  I get an involuntary arch of the back, weakness of the legs, and bladder problems.

Hey Mistylee,

If your having circulation issues as in your leg thingy, could it not be also connected, and playing up when your menstuating? I dont really have a good idea here but it sort of makes sense if your having blood flow issues already, that it could be a reflux reaction of some kind.

cheers.....JJ
