Worried and running out of options

Gettingwiser
13 hours ..I am 63.  I have all the symptoms of MS with a Negative MRI.  I am desparate for help as I am losing the ability to walk and this all in just a year and a half. I can no longer work and am on SSI Disability.  I can't find a Neuro to do a spinal even though all tests done have ruled everything else out.  A spinal. What is the deal. I don't want to lose my ability to function, live in my home or take care of myself. Please help me. I am an RN with 25 years experience I can't believe this is happening to me.

Sorry you are going through this! It is horrible going through the dx process. It can take a long long time. It took my doctor over 2 years to dx me, my sister it took 7 years to be dx'd.

A negative MRI doesn't rule it out. I had several negative MRI's before the lesions started showing. Have you had MRI of your Cspine and Tspine too or just your brain.

Has your doctor done evoked potential tests? If they don't think it is MS are they sayign what they think it might be?

I hope you find some answers soon,
Paula

I am so sorry you are going through this. If you can tell us more about your history of symptoms and experiences with doctors, that should help forum members to give you some good guidance.

It's so difficult when you know something is wrong with your body and can't find a doctor who can tell you what it is. A lot of people here have been or are going through similar situations. I'm glad you came here, because you will get some good advice.
