MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS COMMUNITY
Would taking amantadine affect the images seen on MRI?

Would taking amantadine affect the images seen on MRI?

First, is Amantadine considered a DMA?  I doubt that it is since it just provides symptomatic relief rather than affects the disease progress.

My concern is:  Would taking amantadine, which might improve my feelings of extreme fatigue and weakness, cause an  MRI to show fewer lesions?  Since it improves energy levels, does it reduce or obscure the visibility of MS lesions seen on MRI?

Also, would taking Provigil affect visibility of MS lesions on MRI?  Same question for alpha-lipoic acid 1200 mg twice a day.

Thanks for your insights!
