Wrapping Gifts! Help Wanted, Pay's Lousy!

Just wondering if everyone else is having a hard time wrapping gifts like I am?  I am putting up a HELP WANTED, PAY'S LOUSY sign here on the Forum...doubt if there will be any takers...worth a try I figure!  tee hee

I bought as many gift bags as I thought I needed but of course I came up short and darn this job is exhausting!  I didn't much like it before I got sick but now...I HATE IT!

Ironing is a pain too!  I ironed 4 pillowcases and I am exhausted and have to take a break for crying out loud!

Hate to say it but I will be mighty glad...wait, did I say Glad?  What about Glad garbage bags for wrapping parcels...hey a little ribbon, they do smell nice, the little ones I mean... what do ya think?

Garbage bags? Now that's an idea.  Luckily I didn't have to wrap presents for 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  I sent them all gift cards this year.

Now for my honey, I used that dern silky, shiney paper and worried myself to death trying to hold it still, while TYRING to get tape on it.  Drove me nuts.  Well I take that back, I am already a member of the "Nutso Club," so I have been practicing my nutso skills this wrapping season.

I love you like a sister Rena, but NO, I will NOT help you wrap the presents.  Besides, it's not like I can make a quick drive over to your house to help you.  What are we anyway, literally a thousand miles apart?

Well I got em all wrapped (no thanks to that Heather, I'm so far away...what an excuse!) and all just to watch the beautiful paper get ripped off in a frenzy of childhood joy!  Bah Humbug!

Actually, the giving IS what it is all about but I am definitely buying more gift bags next year, they are the way to go!

Now we gotta take em' all to Grandma's today cause onChristmas Day we do the Turkey here and then take it over there so we will have our hands full!

Quix...I would come help you but I really don't know where you live!  I do like cookies and ice cream though...got any shortbread???

Yep!  And a beautiful view of the vast Columbia River from up on the mountainside.  You're all welcome.  We might even have some flakes (no! SNOWFLAKES, not you guys!  I'd never insult my friends.) for Christmas Day.

Quix, I am just North of Seattle, and used to live in Portland, so I know your area well. The Columbia is beautiful! I love the Northwest...wouldn't want to live elsewhere.

Rena, LOL you are too funny!  Glad garbage bags LOL!  I just got done wrapping a few gifts myself. I thought I was all done for S5, but I ran into Shopko tonight expecting to buy nothing and went out with a new Power Rangers for him, a sweater and a pair of jeans for me!  Ugggh.  Then I got home wrapped presents and I too am exhausted.  It's 7:45 and I am ready for bed.  S5 is watching Winnie The Pool and Xmas Too and when that's over, I'm hittin the hay!  

You relax now too woman  you deserve it!  Curl up and watch your favorite movie or General Hospital which is coming on soon LOL ;)  Take care and have a nice evening.

Just cause I don't have enough gas in the car to drive a thousand miles, you get all huffy and start casting our friendship to the wind.  Welllllllll.....so much for friendship and those sisters feelings.  I am hurt...so hurt...

Tell you what little sister, you promise to fill up my big gas tank when I get there and I WILL help you wrap presents, even if it's presents for the dog.  Okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????????????????  Geesshhhhh!

All I wanted for Christmas is good friends and maybe a miracle or two....it seems that both of my wishes came true, by looking at some of the good news that has hit the forum in the last 24-48 hours.

Merry Christmas, even to my nasty little sister Rena, who was griping cause I wouldn't travel to the end of the world to help wrap Christmas presents...don't let on to her though, but I love her anyway....Mums the word.... If she knew how much I loved her, she would just take advantage of me.  LOL

oooops!  I was again picturing Rena in the UK.  So you'd have a 1000+ mile drive across the Little Plains and the Rocky Hills.  What's a jaunt for a friend?  I'll put you up for the night, cause I have some of that mylar wrapping paper, too.  It is the devil's own creation.  

Someone is secretly filming us gimps trying to control it around a package while rambunctious kitties jump into the crackling mess.  We'll see  it on Dateline next year.  "To Catch a Klutz."  I'll have to do a follow up OpEd piece on the merits of Hypo Gamma Chondria (not the Nutso Club!  Sheeeeesh!).
