Yet another question for Quix...no hurry

Yesterday I decided to take a look at all my blood test results...and wow, if someone is looking for a way to make one's head spin into a headache, look through test results!  The only thing that I couldn't understand was the WBC and RBC; both are low.  WBC 3.8 and RBC 3.9.  I certainly could be reading it incorrectly.  Just curious if that rings a bell for you?  Does that possibly mean I have Infectious Rabbititous?  (Bugs Bunny reference.)

We definitely need to shorten your nickname.

If the RBC was low, but the hemoglobin level wasn't, it indicates that the cells may be a little large,  What was the MCV and the MCH?  If those were elevated it indicates that the body is making the cells larger usually due to lack of B12 or folate or both, but it is not severe enough to cause anemia yet.

The lower WBC might be in response to a viral infection - that's the most common cause.  The WBC varies often from day to day.

Neither of those two findings bothers me much.....but, then, they're not my results...(couldn't resist.)

How's your computer?

It's not that I was worried; it was just my inquiring mind wondering why, if everything else was normal, than how can both the RBC and WBC be low?  Everything else in just about in the mid-range, and I was checked for B-12.

Thanks for explaining.hough I am a bit distraught...thought that perhaps I had discovered an easy way to detect Infectious Rabbititous.

WFW  or WTFW to make it easier?  Naw...to much like wrestling.  Wanna or Wanting works.

The WBC is independent and varies with many factors as I said earlier.  The RBC is a total number, but it combined with other things that compensate for the lower number of cells, like more hemoglobin in the cells, or a larger size of the cells, the other numbers can still be in the normal range.  The body is good that way.

BTW - I am really hoping you don't have Infectious Rabbititious, because that has been shown in a "major University Study" to result in Corrugations of the Diaphragm, and we don't want that!  :P

Hey, a diagnosis is a diagnosis.  I just wouldn't be sure if the CC or perhaps the Mayo would be a better option.  Do you know who has the best Rabbititious specialists?
