Yet another question on "THOSE DARN LEGS.....

by tonyad, Jul 06, 2009 01:34AM
Have not posted in a while but have been keeping up with all of you :)

Can someone PLEASE  help me to understand this spasticity in the legs **** again!
Here I go again.....Yet another terrible, terrible outburst from these unruly legs of mine. Used to be mainly the left but last few months.......Yep! the left decided to share with the right..(aww how sweet right?)
It has an effect (sp) on being able to walk distance.

Here is what I am feeling can ANYONE relate or am I CRAZY?
the tops of my legs are so tight? stiff? aching (yes), and weak. They feel as if I have done 100 leg squats , ran 5 miles, then did another 100 squats. but not that kind of sore from an excercise just the feeling of exhausted, tight pain..I sure hope I am making sense.  Now it also radiates in to the back of the upper leg and pulls?? from my lower back at times......it reminds me of when I was a child I would be riding bike and as I approached a hill, I would peddle as hard and as fast as I could to get up that hill until i could no longer peddle because of the shear exhaustion, pain, and fatigue of my legs.

OK, I will stop rambling....can ANYONE relate to what I am saying? Is this TRUE spasticity (sp)
ps, I do take Baclofen and even had to double it over the weekend (per doc).

As always, Thanks in advance for your replies. It means a lot.
Have a great week!

Hi I have a lot of spasticity a long with the spasms, I might have this wrong, but from what I understand, The spasticity is when the muscle lock into place while you are having the spasms, it is very painful and it can twist your limbs, fingers toes and body in shapes they aren't meant to be in. Once they lock, it can last for a few seconds to hours... Quix, if I have this wrong, please correct it for me. I sure don't want to give the wrong information to anyone.
I hope this information helps a bit.
Oh Yes, fatigue goes a long with spasms, just think for a minute how hard your muscles are working when they are in spasms, like running ten miles while sitting or sleeping. This is why some mornings you wake up more tired than when you went to bed. I compare it to wearing ten pound weights on my arms and legs and than try to walk...{{{~!~}}}
