a little documentation

So I had my sleep study last night. All wired up - hard to sleep, lol! I woke up @ 5:00am with a massive leg spasm - whole left leg. After the initial shcok of such a rude awakening, I hit the "call" button. As I kit the button, the tech was already running in the room, he said "to see what the hell was going on". He said the leads on my leg were going wild, that it looked like an earthquake on the monitor. It continued to spasm for some time while he was there. He felt the leg and commented on "what a spasm", then asked lots of questions re my spasms.

Finally a spasms documented by real live medical EQUIPMENT that no one can dispute!!!  He has it in his report. I also had some neck spasms and tons of twitches. I nearly skipped out of the hospital this morning, I was so happy to have documentation. That's something good to come out of my hospital stay - that's who ordered the sleep study.

I had also had my stress test yesterday in the am, which seemed to go well. The nurse who put in the IV, however, "blew out" my vein and I have a huge purple area and a nice sized hematoma on my wrist (yes, she put it in my wrist - said she couldn't get any other veins). Pretty sore coz it's in a bad area - I keep smacking it off the desk and stuff.

Anyway, that's the good, the bad and the ugly:)

Hi Penn,
That is such good news that your spasm got documented!!!  Wow, divine intervention is great.  I hope this will bring a faster neuro appt to you too.

Concerning the hematoma, maybe a heating pad on low heat to the wrist hematoma would help the bood to reabsorb and speed the healing.  Only keep it on for 15-20 mins at a time though.
