addendum

I should also add that over time I have lost small motor skills (?) in my right writing hand ... I can barely write without cramping and this sounds very strange ... but I will be writing and then it will just be a squiggly line ... like it is too much for my to make my hand write the words? Again, crazy?  For approx. 5 years I have been obsessed with writing with the "lightest" (weight) pencil I could find because it was too hard to write with anything heavier or to use a pen.  But now even the "lightest" pencil is a chore.
Again, crazy? Comments? Words of wisdom....?

Thanks Shell.  I am glad you mentioned the spine in your response.  My m.r.i. was just for the brain (w/o contrast) but I just finished calling and asking for them to include my spine.  It seems that some of my symptoms would have lesions there opposed to my brain?  I am not sure how all of it works but I figure I will just keep pressing forward.  There is not anything else I can do, right?  I just know that my body, or parts of it are not right and it is too much for it to be caused by a small intestine disorder! Thank you for your support.  I thought maybe I said something wrong when I did not get any replies ... but maybe there just isn't anything to say.  So you and "Lulu" have saved me from feeling totally alone! Thanks

Hi Tammi,

Welcome.  Bring on Thursday huh? No, your not crazy.  I don't know a lot about Celiac disease, but can relate to the loss of fine motor skills and confusion - lots of us can.

With my 1st attack (dx'd in 07), I couldn't make my hand write, nor could I make my body follow through with usual reaction based things. I have regained a lot of my fine motor skills.  For example I can clasp a necklace now and write, but I still get confused over the simple stuff - think I just lost the capacity to process and sort quickly.

It really takes lot of lifestyle adjusting to cope because you are use to more and expect more of yourself.

I sure don't have any great words of wisdom, but hope just being here for you and sharing some techniques help get you through.  If you do have something going on in your brain and spine, hopefully it will show up on Thurs and your Dr. can work to getting to the bottom of the cause.

Thanks for joining us,
-Shell
