all over body spasms, should i rest or exericise?

uk2
Hi all seem to be posting alot sorry about that.

just frustrated waiting for dr to ring got another bout of those all over body spasms that no one seems to understand. There like contrating muscles that not rest in my feet hands back of neck front of neck legs less and arms shoulders and thighs. They are painfull and i cant move around as this sets them off and my muscles are so fatiuged from being on go by contratcting all the time.

i've tried gental exercising but it kills both my sides where my muscles are over my rib cage and all around are so sore and if i twist or lay on it it hurts the diazapam works well but i get so tired i sleep all day and after having 3 weeks in bed already this being my fouth week before i had vertigo which has eased now went as soon as it came i am concerned about losing muscle tone which is something that is already gone from my right leg my left leg is twice as big now, heather thought all my bed rest could be causing the problems but i've had these bouts when i've been up and about and doing regular streatching exercises no one can give me an answer to what these are and how best to handle the.

what do you all do when you get spasms? do they last days all over the body like mine or isolated in one area, having a tough time with all this.

Hi Sam,

I wish you could take this, because many here have seen their spasms lessen with this drug.  But, it probably would be best to see the new neuro first.  Maybe he can get you off some of these other drugs and let you try the Baclofen.

I'm sorry you are still going through all this.  Stretching does help some people, but I've never gotten any relief from this, it just always made it worse.  And like Shell says, after being immobile as you've been, I don't know if it would help or not.

I'm praying for you to see this new neuro soon and get some relief.

Love & hugs,
doni

Don't you apologize girl.

I would not exercise to vigourously, but can you walk? Even if it's short distances each day? Or, walk around the house to start or something and raise your arms above your head gently, and then back down.

You can try to stretch, but be careful as you've been fairly immobile for a long while, and even that can contribute to the spasms like Heather says.

I hope this new Dr. will take a look at to what the issue is w/the right leg.

Some others should chime in on this one soon...
