anyone ever have problems straightening fingers?

Last night I noticed I couldn't straighten my right pinky finger all the way-- it stayed stubbornly curved. The day before I'd woken up with both hands numb/achy to up the arms, and they'd remained thus all day, but yesterday they were fine. Good times!

My pinkey finger on my right hand was brocken when i was a kid by my brother throwing a shoe at me, lol brothers! When i was in my early 30's I noticed that sometimes out of the blue my hand would get cramp like my foot and the pinky finger would get stuck. The middle knuckle would be locked straight and not bend but the end one close to the tip would be bent downwards, strange to see but not painful unless i can't get it to unstick. Up until a recently i thought it did that because of being brocken way back when, now i'm not so sure it has anything to do with it once being brocken.

Anyway now three of my fingers on my left hand do the same thing as that right pinkey finger and I 100% know i haven't brocken any of them. When they get stuck straight with just the last knuckle bent, i have to force those middle knuckles to snap out of it, just like you do when your feet curl up in cramps. If i wiggle my fingers about, the left pinky goes into the stuck mode more than not, lol i dont know how to describe this very well, lets just say it is quite weird to see.

Yours may stay subbornly bent where as mine stay stubbornly straight, it could be the same thing but what that thing is the big question. All i do know is that your fingers are not suppose to be able to do it and yet they do! lol

Cheers...........JJ

Thanks, guys--- yet another thing to add to the list.  I've been trying to "use" it as much as possible, keep stretching it, bending it as far as I can etc. It doesn't hurt exactly, it just feels stubbornly tight, like a rubber band stretched taut.

And Calamfred-- MS for him and lupus for you? Yikes!

My husband has MS, and he has had finger or fingers all of a sudden not want to straighten, usually he will reach over with his other hand and straighten whichever finger(s) it is happening to. I just asked him about this, and he said usually it does not necessarily hurt, just feels tight. He has a lot of trouble with pain in his legs, and before we knew he had MS, he was told he had restless leg syndrome...now we know it is spasticity...especially in his heel cords...ahhh, the joys of MS...not! I have been diagnosed with Lupus, and now he has MS...we make quite a pair!!

I have the paresthesia in my entire left arm that lasted 5 days.  Occasionally, I felt some of the numbing between my index and middle finger on the sides.  Almost feels arthritic, yet like you have the flu in one extremity but without a fever :D

Fun $hit isn't it?

Hi Sadie,
It could be spasticity causing the problem....  I hope it feels better soon.
