YES! My husband has been taking LDN for nearly four years. Diagnosed four years ago and straight away our neuro starting pushing AvonexAvonex Avonex prefilled syringe on him. I didnt like the sound of it one bit and got googling. It seemed that to pay over $1,000 a month, to get horrible side effects with only about a 30% chance of getting any help with it, was not very appealing at all.
We printed up pages of info about LDN and took it to the neuro with the promise that if it didnt "work" then we`d reconsider the AvonexAvonex Avonex prefilled syringe. Nearly four years later my husband is as healthy as anyone can be with MS.
NO disease progression or exaserbations in the whole time. He gets an MRI each year and sees the neuro after that and has no need to see him until the next year. He works every day in a physically demanding job (he`s 47) and the only symptoms he has are terrible fatigue, some cognitiveMental status tests issues and a very slight balance problem. No new symptoms since taking LDN.
It`s a no brainer for us - we get the script from our neuro who is thankfully prepared to "think outside the box" and go along with it since he only sees good coming out of it. It costs us $65 for a three month supply and we get it compounded by a pharmacist in Florida who prepares LDN for hundreds and hundreds of others in the country. One pill at nighttime with no side effects what so ever. It doesnt get publicity because it`s cheap and theres no money to be made from it. There are linical trials at the moment going on at Penn for LDN and Crohns and one for Fibromyalgia at Stanford. A short study was just completed with LDN for MS at UCSF (where we go) with positive results.
Our neuro, despite the fact he prescribes it, credits my husbands good health not to the LDN, but that maybe he has benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo MS!! Just cant bring himself to admit it`s the LDN.
The other good thing is that my husband has not had so much as a sniffle in the whole time on LDN. I`ve had colds, the fluAmniocentesis Atrial fibrillation/flutter Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) collection Culture - joint fluid Fluorescein angiography Flushable reagent stool blood test Fta-abs Gastroesophageal reflux disease Gastroesophageal reflux in infants Haemophilus influenza organism Hiatal hernia repair, bad throatsCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture, him...nothing at all! It`s worth taking it just for that alone!
I hope this testimony encourages people to get googling and check it out. Absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. It`s not a cure but as far as we can see, and from the thousands of people all over the world that take it, it stops or slows down progression more than any other meds currently in use.
Good luck and good health to everyone!
