baclofen

Going to my Neuro on Monday, and have a lot of questions to ask.  I was wondering what you guys think of Baclofen?  Does it work, and how are the side effects ?   I am getting worn down with the pain and discomfort and am going to ask for something other than just gabapentin and antidepressants  and now some new meds for my OTHER problem.....

Hi,

I'm on Baclofen for my spasticity. It helps a great deal in relieving the tightness from spasticity.

They usually start you on a lower dosage in the beginning. If it's slowly tilter up, I think there is less chance of side effects. I'm on a 10 mg pill 4 x a day. If you were to start this med, it would be on a lower dosage. I have noticed that it seems to last 3-4 hours on some days & I can tell when I haven't taken my pill or when it's worn off.

I think when I first started to take it, it did make me a little sleepy, but I didn't experience too many side effects other than that. I've read that it can cause weakness in the beginning, and I've heard some people say they've experience this, but it did resolve after a few weeks of being on it.

I hope this med works good for you. I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have it. I couldn't move if I didn't have, so it does work.
