body odors

This isn't new, its been going on a long time but I was just wondering if anyone else has the same thing.

I no longer have body odors, mainly under my arms, I love it but its so strange.  I have had so many changes like that...my hands who were always cold are now warm.

I can't think of others but there are more..like I was beautiful, now I am ugly..lol   Actually, I no longer go on diets, I just lose weight.  Also, the life-long habit of getting on the scales every morning has ended.

hugs, meg

None of this is so bad, just think it is strange, like a lot of things with MS.  And the weight loss is really slow.  If we could pick and choose what we want, now that would be nice..

Hey opie um rofl, is that a typo or are you really going around swearing at everyone and their dog " The meds for fatigue make the swearing worse" lol

I've not had any significant changes with either, though i have started swearing at my laptop, does that count? lol

Cheers.........JJ

I have WORSE body odors than ever!  I am allergic to the aluminum in antipersp.  I even reacted to the Rx stuff.  The meds for fatigue make the swearing worse.  The last option for me is to try botox in the sweat glands.......

Meg,

Ever since my symptoms first started, before my dx I started getting warm hand when before they were always freezing, not sure why that happened but it did, could be the start of perimenopause in my case but I never really thought of it as part of my MS...hmmm got me wondering now lol

As for the weight loss, as said above it could be the medications you are on. I know that I am on meds for fatigue and it has boosted my weight loss, even though I am doing weight watchers, I have noticed an increase in weight loss since starting and I only started it a month ago.

But the meds for fatigue make me feel like Paula again instead of the walking dead. I want to take care of myself more, I am more social and willing to go places. I am finally no longet withdrawn and it feels great.

As for the odor going away, that is a great thing. I have never really had a problem with that until all the meds I was taking made my liver go crazy then I started having underarm odor. I have to wear mens deoderant to keep it under control lol but at least something works.

You are not ugly by any stretch of the imagination so don't think of yourself that way :)

Paula

Ahh, Meg...well, as far as the body odor magically disappearing, that's one I could live with.  And No, d@mnit!  You're NOT ugly!

Make sure you get enough high quality calories -the best bang for your buck - and I'm not talking empty calorie junk food.  Talk to your MD about why you may be losing weight.  Are you on Provigil?  That can cause weight loss in some folks.

Welcome the warm hands!  That's kind of nice!

Be good to yourself...Hugs!
