"branding"

I may have asked this before, but I don't think so. This is a "symptom" I had several months ago that went away but has chosen to resurface during this lengthy bad patch I'm going through right now. I feel periodically a small area, like a line but not straight, an inch or 2 long, that I can only describe as like being branded (as in branding cattle). It is a searing intense heat that is only on the left side of my face, only the face. It did happen once on the right side just this week. For me everything seems to be only left sided then evetnually, slowly work it's way right. It only lasts about 30 seconds or so.

Am I crackers, or does anyone else experience this? I'm okay with being crackers; I've been called worse and it would at least be SOME type of answer, lol!

Sorry for the goffiness. This rough patch has been very long and very intense - or at least it seems longer. Need a prop of some sort to keep my chin up;)

No sweety your not crackers, I have had that similar too.  The searing intense heat is under the skin but I get patches of it not just on my left side of my face, left side of my shoulder, arm, leg, foot, patches pop up all over the left side of my body.  Sometimes the heat lasts more than 30 seconds.  And I know its not hormonal, its not a hot flush but more like hot flashes, heat burning spots or patches..

Just another annoying little symptom.
I hope you get through the rough patch- handing you a nice soft fluffy prop to help keep your chin up :)

yes, just another thing to note.  I have this too. It's not unbearable, but it is annoying.   Not just my face.  There's spots on my legs, arms, around my trunk and face, sometimes I get patches between my fingers (I would swear I had rubbed it with Chilli or something hot, but I haven't.  Sometimes it feels like something hot/icy.  Like when you're in the cold so long that your skin starts to burn.

Sometimes if I rub or touch my face or other areas, it will set off the burning in the part I just touched.  

Don't usually have all areas simultaneously, but can be more than one spot at once.  Currently have a patch on the back of my calf that feels like it's been rubbed with high strength menthol, and my feet are "hot".

The good news is that people who present particularly with sensory symptoms apparently (from what I've been reading) seem to have a milder more benign course for MS or whatever is happening....

Not for quite a few years now, but I have had burning pain that was truly agonizing. Way high on the pain scale. It felt like I was being seared on a grill, literally. Ice packs would numb things for a while, and the pain would get larger and smaller in area. On my legs, my back and the back of my neck and head. It was making me crazy.

More often I have had patches of slight burning pain on the insides of my knees. It felt not quite like sunburn, not quite like chapping. When that got bad it felt like someone was pouring alcohol on a raw area. The stinging was severe. But no redness there, nothing whatever to see.

Whew, just thinking about all this is depressing. Gotta find something cheery here.

You're right, it's really just annoying - doesn't compare to the buzzing that climbs from my feet upward as the day goes on or the excruciating spasms, walking into walls, etc. I was just wondering if it was related to whatever it is I may have. It does hurt a good bit when it's happening but only lasts a short time, so it just annoys me. Hoping that it doesn't move to other areas as time goes on, as other things have (spasms especially).

Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one. That's always comforting, lol.

I've never had the burning .( Thank you Lord)  My feet ache and get hot but its not the same. I though you all were talking about banding , which I know a lot about .   Can't see computer screen very well . New specks this week.

I'm sitting here trying to think of something humorous , for Ess..   I put chicken broth in my coffee this morning . The cartons look exactly the same ..  I said to he** with it , tried it , not too bad the first sip but not really a good combo.

Yesterday was one of the best days I've had in a year.  I planted one of the palm bushes ( don't know what else to call them )  that's been shriveling in the backyard with its companions since early summer , when I couldn't do any more out there .

  These poor bushes were so pretty when I bought them, now I hope they will forgive me.  I'm going to do one more today. I feel fine  and will not over-do. The soil in Fl. is sandy ease digging ... nothing like New England , full of roots , rocks and packed tight .  This is a breeze

Got to go make some more coffee.    

Didn't somebody put pump hand soap on their toothbrush , and they had never used any other paste other than what came in the tube, so not just a mix up.  I thought that was pretty funny . Thanks for the laugh ...   I did it last week.  Another hiccup
