can spasticity be a first symptom of MS?

Or can unilateral mild muscle stiffness be a first symptom?

There's a good health page about spasticity and muscle spasms, etc.

I'm also curious about the muscle stiffness, as I have some that are "tight as steel" according to my physical therapist.

I was told that the muscle stiffness doesn't lead to spasticity, and I haven't heard anything about muscle stiffness being a symptom of MS.  Of course, I'm no expert, don't even have a diagnosis, just have been floating through limboland for over a year now.

Someone else might have a better answer; we'll see!
