Hey, don't you worry. Typically facial numbness is from one of the cranial nerves, and it doesn't go into the rest of the body.
This doesn't mean that you won't have some numbness in your body, but it won't necessarily be on the right side of your face.
I first went to the doctor because my face kept tingling and buzzing. I developed vertigo and more numbness before my diagnosis. A short while after that, my right hand and leg started feeling really weak and numb. I have a lesion in the right cerebellum, which caused the weakness. They never found out what caused the numbness in my face. It's probably something in the pons, though - right now my face feels ice-cold, on the same side as the tingling.
Hey How are you?! My first attack my whole right side of my body went numb including my face...took a good 2 to 3 weeks to go away (April 09) and now just this sunday morning i woke up and my whole rt side once again went numb and tingling and heavy feeling....I personaly dont like the thought of steroids or taking some other medicine to speed it up back to normal until its real bad so im going to give it time to go away on its own once again..I dont think that means the rest of your body will go numb but you really can't predict MS and the next set of symptoms that will happen..Good Luck and Just give some time and try not to worry!
Hi and welcome.
I had my face go numb many years ago, just after my dx too. It went away of it's own accord after a few weeks, without the help of steroids. Don't worry, it doesn't mean that you whole left side is going to go numb OK?? It's just your face.
Being so recently dx your bound to be feeling a little aprehensive, but there is a huge group of people here on Medhelp that will answer your questions.
Try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done :/

Hi Babyboy,
Welcome to the forum here at MedHelp. I took a quick look and see that you have just been dx'd with MS in August and are already on a DMD. I'm sure glad you are getting treatment to try to slow the progression.
There really is no correlation between your face going numb and being concerned about numbness over the entire left side of your body. MS doesn't work that way.
This is one very confusing disease that is different for everyone. I know from my own experience that just when I begin to think I understand MS, something different comes to my attention. I hope you will stick around here to learn more.
Keep us posted on your progress - I hope the numbness doesn't last so long this time.
be well,
Lulu
