cleveland clinic

I finally found a neuro and rheumy at the cleveland clinic that are in my insurance's network!!! I am so close to throwing in the towel and accepting fibromyalgia as my only diagnosis. However, deep down inside I know that something else is there and fibro may be a part of it but not all of it. Lately, I've been getting this sick feeling. It isn't the kind of nausea you get when you have a stomach flu. I can still eat and I don't feel like I will vomit. I feel more like death is coming upon me. This is the only way to explain it. I'm in pain but not screaming pain. Anyway, if anyone has had an experience at this clinic or heard something about it, I would greatly appreciate the information. I hope everyone is having a good weekend!!!!

I have no experience with the Cleveland Clinic, but wanted to wish you good luck!

I'm so sorry you are feeling poorly.

Do you already have an appointment?

Your words worry me.  Can you say these words to your PCP?  As a physician I was taught to pay attention when some came with a "gut feeling ( NO pun intended) that something was truly, seriously, critically wrong.  Call it intuition, a 6th sense, I was taught to give it creedence.  On the other hand it can also be a product of depression, which goes hand in hand with the symptoms and illnesses we discuss here.  And sometimes you can't deal with the more obviously neurological symptoms until you get a grip on depression.

Can you describe this feeling in any other way - with descriptive words about what you are feeling?

As far as the Cleveland Clinic, we have had people here have very successful visits and others with dismal experiences.   It really does seem to be dependent on which doctors you see.

Quix, Thank you for your input. My gut feeling stems from this sick feeling that I can't describe well, but will try. It isn't nausea like I will vomit. It is like a sick pain. And the fact that I often have trouble controlling my limbs, especially my legs, along with other symptoms that are usually not fibro, leads me to think that there is probably something else there. It does cross my mind at my worst moments that I could be dieing. I guess that could be depression trying to fight it's way in. My pcp is calling to have the follow up of my mri done. I am curious to see if the lesions have changed.
All: Thank you for your support. I am not suffering from depression, but I am close. It helps so much to know that people who are experiencing similar things are here for me. The meds help. I do have an appt. with a neuro and a rheumy at the cleveland clinic on 4/26. Thank you, again! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!
