Have you had your circulation checked?

Boy I can relate! Wish I had a magic wand to make all the ice cold feet feel warm again. It helps me to read these posts to know that I'm not going crazy.
A funny thing my doc gave me lorazepam and it helps.
You should really start your own post in the Vascular Forum. This is a two year old thread in the Multiple Sclerosis Forum.

i have the same problem...i was diagnosed with Raynauds Phenomenom about 2 years ago when i was 18 and it gradually got worse. I went from one blueish pale cold hand to both and now my feet bother me more than any thing. Its a serious inconvenience, my specialists put me on a medication called Verapmil because he said the condition gradually affected me worse and worse. Im more than ever sensitive to cold and sometimes it affects my joints (such as my knees...which by the way hurt like hell.) I love my doctors they are the best but i swear nothing works for me and as im writing this im in my room under a fleece cover and blanket wearing a shirt with a fleece sweater with a fleece hoodie on top with thick leggings and a fleece bottom with 2 pairs of socks, one cotton and one fuzzy and well believe it or not im FREEZING! I feel like i need a second opion of someone who knows what im going through or with at least some knowledge of what im saying. Please respond!!!!!!!!!!!
I got some down-filled (machine washable!) slippers at the Eddie Bauer Outlet store a couple years ago; need to dig those out of the closet and give them a wash!
You have a wonderful small vacation this weekend!
Hugs,
Kathy
Ooooo... I like the rice bag idea, I will go and do that sometime today, and take it with me on vacation, :)
This just really started up about a week ago, but my mom remembers me having this problem last winter.
Thanks so much for the replies, I was really feeling kinda weird, I mean, I was in warm houses with sock and shoes on walking around and my feet were like icicles!!
I've got to run, my day is soooo full, between a dr.'s visit (wish me luck, i need a referral to Vanderbilt) and packing for a small vacation to a friends house this week-end.
Have a great week-end everyone!!

Way back in the old days I had "down" slippers. These were made from the "down" material that is used in pillows. They were light weight and they kept my feet nicely warm. They were a gift so I'm not sure where they came from.
Cheers, Jules
Sunnytoday,
I notice that my feet and my hands get ice cold easily and often. The only thing that truly warms them up is exercise that gets my blood flowing. I always sleep with socks on.... I often wish I had warmed rocks to put into the bed at my feet to help with the heat.
Do you sew? Or does your mom or a friend have a sewing machine? Maybe you can try the worlds easiest heating pack - sew some fabric into a square or rectangle or whatever shape you can manage. Leave one end or side open. Fill it with white rice. Sew the pouch shut. Warm in microwave - takes 60-90 seconds. Try this and put is on the floor and put your feet on top of it. It doesn't get hot hot, just a soothing warm temp. Maybe that will help - all you have to lose is some rice if it doesn't work.
Warmly,
Lulu
PS - thanks to my massage therapist for the rice bag tip. I made mine by sewing a handtowel closed - by hand!!! needle and thread the old fashiioned way.
Icily yours,
Lulu
I'm sorry about the cold feet; really uncomfortable. I find that when my feet are cold like that, I always stub my toes, and it hurts more than usual.
I've been having cold feet for the last couple months, sometimes up to my knees. My Sports and Spine doctor said it was probably from nerve compression; my lower back isn't in the best shape. It gets the worst when I'm sitting a lot. Sometimes gettting up and walking around helps, other times it doesn't.
I always have warm fuzzy socks on, while my roommate is sitting around wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and bare feet. They only help a little, but it's better than ice-block feet.
On a happier note, they do seem to be improving, even though it's getting colder here. Maybe whatever caused it is lightening up. Maybe yours will get better, too. It wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it, if it keeps bugging you.
I find myself wanting to use my roommate's heated massaging foot bath, but I just know I'll melt like the wicked witch of the west and be in worse shape. Sigh!
To take your mind off of your cold feet, how about you get a seat belt for that wheel chair and go sign up for wheel chair basketball! Just kidding, but I did know a guy in a wheel chair that played for a team called the Wheel Blazers (our local team is the Trail Blazers). It was really fun to watch!
Warm smiles and hugs,
Kathy
