confused ....

Hi, I am going through the same type of thing .... with the SUPER hot thermostat....LOL ....
I thought for sure it was because I am 53 this summer and it was the change going on, had my ovaries removed last Sep[t... because of a tumor ( benighn) ...... anyways, we waited about 1 year, then I talked to my primary Dr. and he tried me on a hormone patch, could not do that burned my skin when I took the patch off, so did my skin come with...., then, they give me a gel to use, ( it is itchy and it is super cold to put on) , needless to say, I am looking gfor something else, maybe the pill for hormones ???   , my question to you all is ...... When a HOT spell lasts more than a few minutes, and it turns into HOURS and HOURS, and you can't seem to breathe because you are so hot, and wiping the sweat off the lip thing too, and changing clothes alot as well, is this more of what you folks are talking about ???    I get stinging tingling just before I over heat, and sometimes it does last for only a few minutes, then sometimes it can be all day, and by the end of the day, ( well, you can imagine how cranky one gets) ......

Just a little input to let you know you are not alone, and I am wondering if this IS what you are talking about ...?

Please could someone else let me know if this is menopause, or MS ?????

Confused,, and hot .... ( not in a good way  LOL )

Hi Candy,

My hot flashes never lasted that long but were damn irritating..  I went back on a small dose of hormones, it always stopped it.

Now the broken that I have with MS, and this is only me, is so different..I don't perspire and wearing clothes or not doesn't change it.  Whatever it is that causes this with MS, its still a mystery to me.

Even in the winter, I leave my ceiling fan on or I open my window...strange thing.  My husband is always cold.  I am almost always too warm.

I don't kniow if this has anything to do with it, but all my life I had cold hands and everyone had to comment on it. I hated taking someones hand.  Now my hands are always warm..go figure..

Ask for some hormones, then you will be able to tell the difference.

good luck on that one, meg

Candy,

Sorry you are going through this :( I can't really help I get hot flashes but they never last for hours so I am not sure what you are having is menepause related or MS related. I do know that if it is menepause related that you can get meds to help. There is also the hormone replacement therapy that they came out with.

You should give your doctor a call to find out what is going on. Maybe someone else here can give you better imput on what is going on with you but I just wanted to let you know that you we are here for you.
