cortisone drip

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the crtisone drip to start working and easing pain?
Also what can one do to get rid of the terrible bloating in the stomach? I look like a big fat pig ready for roasting and is very uncomfortable.

I just finished a round about four weeks ago.  I felt the same way.  So weak I couldn't hold my head up.  But today I am back to feeling myself.  I know I had an infection at the time I took the treatment.  After the third round (the last being a very strong antibiotic) I am back to feeling myself.

i know how you feel. One cannot explain it but you feel like your mind is there but your body is just floating.  I hope you feel better soon. I now have had 4 days straight with a headache and no amount of meds gets rid of it. The thing is that even if you have the iv it doesnt mean you will rid of the symptoms you have. The bloating is killing me , I look 6 months pregnant and my face is rounded, I have put on 5 kilos in one week. I HOPE IT WILL GO AWAY SOON.

I just finished my 5 days, and I am sorry I did it.  My Dr says he is afraid if I don't I will suffer worse, but this time was hard. I am soooo high and floating from the treatment still.  I wish they would taper me off or something.
My tongue is tingling so bad,  it feels like a 9volt battery is stuck to it.  Ok enough of my whining on your post sorry :)

I hope you feel better soon.

Take care.

Thanx for your info. I think that i am in the same category, the IV has helped a bit with the burning pain but the vibrating in the hands and feet is still there. I effects of the drip are really bad. I feel dizzy , bloated and sick in the stomach. I feel like i have gone through chemo. I don't remember having these effects the last time i had it done 5 years ago. But then again i didnt even really have an attack like this time. I think because the put me on the iv straight away i didnt get the attack. This time it was bad. I feel so tired i cant believe that this could happen. I have slowed down so much its scary. My latest symptom is that even my tongue is tingling. I have the nuero appointment on fri. Lets see what happens!!!!

The minimum amount of time for a normal problem out in the body is about 8 to 12 hours.  For the kind of inflammation in the brain I would expect that any improvement could begin within the first 24 hurs.  Often though we hear that people don't begin to feel any better for 3 or 4 days.  Sometimes there is no improvement at all.  I was one who never felt better after steroids.

Steroids make you retain salt.  Avoid salty foods.  I use Taurine - about 1600mg a day - to act as a natural diuretic when I retain fluid with the 'roids.  Sorry about the tight waistband.
