could i have ms

by katie765, Jan 21, 2008 11:23AM
Hi I have been through the last year of my life under going mri's lumbar puncture and blood work all to come back negative for all and any neuro findings. Here is the thing about a year ago I was started having these really deblilitating headaches. Went to doc. then he told me i had optic neuritis. Then he told me to go to an eye doctor so I did there i was told it was indeed on with papilademia. So they send me to a neuro. The first day I meet with the neuro he looks at me and says I think you have ms. So we scheduled an mri and then a lumbar puncture the mri showed only one white matter lesion on the right side of my brain. At first the headaches and a few vision changes were the only symptoms I was having. Oh and my lumbar puncture came back normal also. Then later on after suffer from the spinal headache and having to have a blood patch done to take the headache away. About six month later I started having more symptoms like numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. Blurred vision and poor concentration. I was thanksgiving day we had decieded to have dinner at our house with all our family and friends. I was fixing a dessert and went to get a carton of eggs out of the refrigarator and it just feel right out of my hands for no reason i have tremors all the time even now as i sit here and type and joint pain. and musle pain i have fell a couple of time while i was walking at home. But i would just like some answers I go back for another mri this wednesday because the first one i had was done with out contrast. so i will be looking forward to see the results of that test. If anyone has any input please let me know thank you so much karin

Sorry, my bad for hitting the wrong button. lol

Anyway,  dear Karin,  Honey I'm so sorry that this is happening to you.  None of us deserve it but for some reason get it.  Your symptoms do sorta sound like MS but I'm a far cry from being a doctor.  I get the tremors real bad but just once in a while.  When I do have them though I will drop whatever I try to pick up.  MS, if that's what you have is a disease that you sorta have to learn when you can and can't do things.

I certainly pray that you don't have MS but I also know what it's like in limbo land.  I think that the MRI with contrast will be a good thing for you.  If it is MS it could possibly show more lesions so they can finally diagnose you.

I will pray that you get a diagnosis soon and that they can do something to relieve your headaches and other problems.

I'll be praying,
Carol
