Hi Deb

This was discussed little awhile ago. I'll try to find the response from Quix for you.  :) I can't remember . Aarrrr

I get different things .  What I consider cramps , in my toes.  Charlie horse/cramps in my calves. I was having this while having muscle testing and the doc said it was spasms.   Then there the spasms?  I get in my ribs and back , which are much different then the ones in my legs.  ??   Confusing

I also get a burning nerve pain .   I'll add a question if you don't mind .  Many people talk about the ice pick pain in the temple/ear area. I also get this .  Is this a spasm or what ??

Muscle spasms tend to repeat and repeat.  But AH...you might say that a Charlie Horse can do that too.  Charlie Horses seem to be spasms that you can work out. Massage, step on that foot and walk, that is going in a CH.  Then comes along a muscle spasm that tightens that you can't massage out.  It starts in one limb then quickly goes to another and then repeats.  That's the only thing different that "I" can see that might make them different.

One thing we can agree on....THEY HURT!

I can actually see mine ripple. Does that make sense? It really freaked me out at first, now its a daily thing. In my arm and leg. Today it is my ribs! I feel like someone is trying to squeeze me to death on my left side and in my back. The not knowing is the worse part. If I had a name as to WHY this is happening...............well, I see my doc on Monday. Hopefully he will have answers. Also, I have problems with my left eye, today I can hardly stand for it to be open. What the heck??

Does anyone else get "cramps" or spasms that aren't horribly painful?

The ones I get tend to be quite uncomfortable, and mildly painful. Maybe they aren't "cramps" or "spasms" but something else?

I dunno

An actual 'charlie horse' is something different from what we're experiencing.  It's specifically a painful bruise of the quad muscle, usually because somebody else has struck it with their knee.  (Like the kick of a horse!)

My muscles do a number of weird things...

• Cramps/spasms - from mild to major, usually mild
• Twitches - involving large and small muscle groups
• Tensing - involuntary tensing of muscle groups
• Muscle soreness - unexplained muscle soreness that doesn't resolve, usually preventing me from using that muscle for any length of time (because it cramps!)

Fortunately most of my cramps and spasms are mild.  I'm still calling them spasms, though!
