electric wheelchair

I am a nurse at a local nursing home.  One of my residents (under 65) had an electric wheelchair which kept him independent. He would help office staff deliever mail, census, etc.  It recently broke down d/t it being so old.  He doesn't have any financial assist. No family.  Do you know of anyone who would donate one to him?

Please help keep up his spirits and maintain his independencej

Since your resident is in a nursing home, may I assume he is on disability? If so, and he is on medicare he should qualify for a scooter.  Any of the reputable scooter companies will handle all of the social security red tape, and even deliver the scooter to home personally. Before my husband died, we were in the process of getting him an electric chair, that was able to be operated by one finger. The time frame was 2-3 weeks,  Very few forms to fill out, did require a doctor's perscription. Social Security would have paid for it totally. Unfortunately, he passed away, so I cancelled the order. Just google "electric scooter" and you will find much information.  Thank you for going the extra step for your resident. God Bless you.
