flair, spasticity, or what??????????

sometimes I feel like I post too much and people think I am nuts.

Ok here goes, Yesterday I laid down because as of the last week or so my fatigue is out of control, I can't stay awake for more than a couple hours without taking a nap. Anyway when I was laying down I felt like my leg was twisting, kinda like it wasn't really there but I could feel it a little. Kinda like when I was younger and the dentist would put me to sleep and I felt all tied in knots before I fell asleep.

Since then my leg has been really hurting from my buttocks to my toes. When I bend my leg the slightest it feels like I am straining my muscle in my front thigh. Well then my cat was laying on me and got up and walked on the side of my leg (outer thigh) and it killed me so I started touching it and the entire area from my hip to my knee once again the outer thigh hurts to touch.

Do you have any idea what is going on. This is becoming very frustrating for me.

Thank you,

Paula

Paula,

it is not possible to post too many questions here, especially when you are working through the dx period .  there is so much to learn about this MiSerable disease - you can see why it takes neurologists years to conquer this subject.

So keep asking those questions - we'll do our best to give you straight answers.

be well, Lulu

Michelle,

I hope my leg feels better soon too, I go see my neuro Tuesday so I will mention it to him then.

Red,
I haven't experienced much spasticity, had an issue with my shoulder and arm a week or so ago, not sure if it is spasticity or if it was a muscle spasm. Still hurts if I move it to fast.

I don't have any meds for spasticity, I will start stretching. That is what I did with my arm and shoulder so guess I was doing the right thing lol.

Hi Paula,

Have you experienced much spasiticity yet?  It sounds like your leg has gone into a tight spasm.  The severe tightness and pain you are having I think is spaciticy.  Spasticity can range from mild to severe.

Here is what I do.  I take a hefty dose of an anti-spasmodic and sometimes also some klonipin.  Then I sit and breath slowly and relax my muscles as much as possible.

I also suggest doing stretches every day at least once a day.

I know this is painful.  Take a deep breath and breath through it.  It will be OK

((((Hugs))))

Hi Paula,
I dont know what is going on with your leg, but if it continues and is a new symptom, I would call your doc.
