Hi,

In a posting johnny put about the buzzing in his legs which i get in both legs, you said your EMG picked it up im going for a EMG on wed as well as NCS and LP will they be able to pick this up and do they tell you that while your doing the test? iv also got a constant twicthing in the inside of my thigh that drives me mad will that show do you think?

Hi!  Sorry I did not get this last night.  I don't know if your EMG can pick up the vibration.  My neuro actually did mine in his office and I could see the monitor that showed the action potentials as he was doing it.  When he found the area in my foot that showed continuous action potentials he was intrigued and tried to find it again in my hand but it did not show up.  My twitches are everywhere and not consistent so he never actually caught a muscle twitch while he had the needle in.

It was pretty painless compared to the NCS.  That test they shock you to see the nerve conduction timing and it got a little uncomfortable.  At the end of the EMG he just asked me questions about muscle disease in my family but did not go into detail about what he found.  I think they need to sit down with all the read outs and measure them and really spend time interpreting them.  I doubt you will have your results on Wednesday but you should probably have some type of feedback about if they find something really abnormal.  

I hope you breeze thru these tests and come out with some answers!!
