The range for Total Protein varies from lab to lab, it's generally 15-60. Elevated protein in CSF can be a sign of nerve inflammation, an MS indicator.
My number came back at 60 and my lab's range was 15-45. I also had o-bands in my CSF but not in my serum (blood sample taken at same time as LP). This is another MS "smoking gun".

im not sure what the last blood test and spinal test are i seem to have misplaced my papers saying what they are. I dont remember why she did the spinal i remember her saying she wanted the MG blood test done and if i wanted to wait til after the results to do the spinal tap or just schedual it now and i went with schedualing it then.
Hi - I'm not real good at reading test results. It may be implied in your CSF protein level, but I didn't see any mention of the presence, or lack there of, of oligoclonal bands in your CSF and or serum. That's the main thing they look for in LP results; the presence of o-bands in your CSF but not in your serum.
My Vitamin D level was 25 too. I've been taking 5000 IU/Day and it's up to a whopping 38! The normal range is 30-74, according to the National Institutes of Health.
This process can be long and frustrating. Hang in there and keep at it!
