Yes, insurance is private. You have it or dont. If you don't you're in lots of trouble if you have problems, or bankrupt. LOL If you're luck your employer has a plan, some employers provide it as a benifit, paying all, or part. Usually you can buy family policy as an extra. If your employer doesn't, to get good care you have to prurchase it privately. It's very expensive. And usually there is network of doctors you have to use to get the most payments for treatments. It gets very confusing and expensive.

Health care in the states is expensive if you have to pay privately.Yes,it does depend on what state ya live in and so forth.

I have 2 insurance, one is a state insurance ,I've been disabled since 1993 and my x-husband still provides insurance ----which really isn't that good.

If it wasn't for my state insurance I'd be bankrupt and without my DRs.With my state insurance everything has to be preapproved first and all specialty Drs have to be referred by my primary Dr. which is okay,he's real good about writing the referrals.

Hi Hmm in some respects it sounds worse than the uk and in some respects better ! We do get free healthcare in the uk but is quite devisive depends where you live and what your gps like whether you get arefrral in the first place to a specialist. Our private healthcare system is really good but like yours very very expensive . Does sound really complicated compared to ours.
Hi T lynn
similarities there then in repect of where you live and healthcare ! Shame the insurance youve got is rubbish !  Can't you get your ex to upgrade the insurance to a better one ?Do the state not provide care for sickness and disabled people then ? I mean what if your born with a disability how the heck are you supposed to have insurance ? Or is the parent suppose dto have insurance in the case that they have a child who is disabled ? Its a good job your drs good though
