horrible ache in thighs

i have been getting this happening over the last year but it is now happening more often.
it starts as a horrible ache in both thighs and then my thighs turn to like jelly and i fall on the ground as i have no control over my legs it is as if they are not there, the ache is disgusting and i cannot get back up for any thing up to 15mins or until it subsides if i do i fall back down again until it decides to go away.
has any one had this happen to them ?
its very scarey when it happens, am off to doctors monday to try an find out what it is but feel a bit of a twit having to try and explain it

I can only say great advice from Kyle to you!
When my hubby was diagnosed with MS, his Neuro had never seen a case present with the symptom my husband had. He did however say he had one other case where the man had only severe leg problems and muscle wasting in his legs, turned out to be a problem stemming from the man's cervical (neck area) spine. Other drs had checked the man's back, but were concentrating on his lower back...not his neck area. He ended up having surgery and had a great outcome. Just goes to show you never know about our awesome wondrous and often times perplexing bodies!

Hi Hobit,

Sounds like your legs are trying to get your attention :-) It also sounds like they've got it!

What you describe does not sound instantly like MS. It does sound like it may be nerve related though. I had similar symptoms about 5 years ago. It turns out it was my back, not my brain (that time anyway!) that was the problem.

If there is a disk out of place it may be putting pressure in a nerve. This can lead to problems like the ones you describe. For me it got to the point where my legs would just give out and I'd find myself looking up at the world.

I think your smart to go get things checked out. It may not be MS but something is surely going on.

Keep us posted.

Kyle
