horrible feeling inside head for 2 years now 24/7

hi
Just another question everyone.
Since June 2007 that I can recall, I have had a horrible feeling inside my head, and its 24/7, and just something I now just put up with.
If I hold my head still it is still there, its like the inside of my head is swimming around, its very hard to describe, and sometimes my neck hurts and I get not quite a headache but my head is achy.
I feel a lot of pressure behind my forehead and sometimes in head, like I need to pop my head and let the pressure out.
My ears when I tilt my head feel like I have water in them, but the G.P. said my ears are fine.
The dizziness worsens with head movement, and heat does not make it worse, a hot shower gives me relief.

I am getting repeat mri's at the end of the year.

I'm afraid if it is ms, then is it bad if its affecting me 24/7 now?????????????????

It was there most of the time - when I woke in the morning, it was minimal, and got worse as the day went on.

What my neuro told me is that there's not much you can do about vertigo.  There are medications, but I've heard that they're not very effective.

Was the feeling in your head there 24/7?

My dizziness does worsen with head movement, the room never spins though, I feel like my head inside is rocking, and I have pressure behind my forehead.

Who do you go see for vertigo??????

Thanks
Melissa

It sounds to me like vertigo, possibly benign positional vertigo.  My vertigo felt very much like your description.

The pressure feeling in your ears might be from the nerves innervating the inner ear.  I've had weird moments where the pressure in my ears just seemed to build up, almost like my head was a balloon and somebody was blowing it up.

The brainstem is where all these nerves go, so it's possible you've got something going on there.

I'm wondering if you have seen any specialist about this ?  I would try an ENT and see if there is something in your ears causing this problem.  Or it could be the MS, but it seems like with it being unrelenting that would be unlikely.

Wishing you well,
Lulu

Hi There, it sounds like the large muscles under your scalp are in spasm, these are very large muscles and can cause a lot of pain... I am glad you have another MRI scheduled this year...
I hope you start feeling better very soon.
