Whatever you do Lady_of_the_dance, don't get up after a Lumbar Puncture. The head aches are horrible. The actual procedure wasn't bad at all, but my neurologist had me up and going home after about an hour laying down. He also told me I could go back to work the next day.

I did what he said and for a week I had a horrible headache. I had to stay in bed it was so bad, and then he prescribed Percoset (sorry about the spelling) which made me so ill I was rushed to the hospital and given an i.v. and told that I shouldn't have gone to work for two or more days after the L.P., and they were surprised he had me on my feet so soon after the L.P.

My PCP didn't order the L.P. either, but she did order blood tests. I also had the tests I described in my first post which showed MS tendencies in one of the tests.

Hmmm, He is referring you to a neurologist to get a lumbar puncture done?  Seems like he is skipping a lot of tests that would normally be done before and LP would be ordered.

Why would he have to send you to a neurologist a for a lumbar puncture?  He could order that himself.

This sounds odd to me.  Sorry you are having such a difficult time.
