interpretting MRI

Hi... I've had MS for 26 years and have done very well.  However, I started with vicious headaches 3 months ago that would awaken me in the middle of the night and subside after a few hours.  I was diagnosed with probable Cluster Headaches.. now the pain has is constant.  I have had 2 MRI's.... can anyone offer an opinion of the IMPRESSION which states:  "MRI of the brain demonstrates mutliple bilateral foci of signal hyperintensities with the deep white matter tracts of the frontal lobes, pariental lobes and surrounding the temporal horns, are nonspecific and nonenhancing.  Differential considerations would include gliosis from prior trauma, focus of accelerated small vessel ischemic change, prior inflammatory/infectious etiologies such as acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, Lyme disease, vasculitis as seen in migraine headaches.  The pattern is not entirely characteristic with demyelinating disease, such as Multiple Sclerosis, however, this cannot be entirely ruled out."

Hi and welcome to the forum.  Your report is interesting and it makes me pause, given that you have been living with an MS diagnosis for 26 years and doing well.

There are people here who are much better versed on MRI's than I am and I hope they jump in.

If this were my report, I would be at the doctor's wanting a further explanation, including a review of the dx of MS.  But that's just me always hoping the doctor was wrong! :-)

Do you remember the details of why they dx'd you initially with MS, such as supporting tests and evidence?

I'm sorry to have all these questions and no answers.
be well, Lulu
