looking for help

got the results of my mri and wondering if anyone can decipher them for me.

1.  Several T2 FLAIR hyperintense signal foci in the cerebral white matter.  Small T2 hyperintense signal lesion in the left ventral medulla.  No enhancing lesions.  When considered with the abnormal lesion in the ventral cervical spinal cord, findings are suspicious for multiple sclerosis.

2.  Remainder of the brain appears normal for age.

FINDINGS: Axial and sagittal T2 FLAIR images show several T2 hyperintense white matter lesions.  The largest is in the right periatrial parietal white matter extending from the margin of the corpus callosum measuring up to 13 mm in the sagittal plane (sagittal FLAIR image 14).  This lesion is hypointense on T1 precontrast.  An adjacent smaller T2 FLAIR hyperintense lesion involves the posterior body of the corpus callosum and extends into the peri-ventricular white matter.  One additional T2 FLAIR hyperintense white matter lesion in the medial right frontal white matter above the corpus callosum (axial T2 FLAIR image 18).  Up to 3 tiny T2 hyperintense signal foci in the left cerebral white matter. On axial T2 image 5 small focus of hyperintense T2 FLAIR signal in the ventral aspect of the left medulla.  As corresponding hyperintense T2 FLAIR signal on sagittal image 10.

Welcome to the forum.

The lesions are located in areas (the cerebral white matter and corpus callosum)  that one would typically see MS lesions.  The T2 lesion on Sagittal FLAIR 14 has a corresponding hypointense T1 "Black hole."  Five of the lesions (on the medulla) are in the lower brain (infratentorrial).  Given your age, these would not typical findings.

Do you  have a neurologist and are you having any neurologic symptoms?
